I'm gonna be purchasing a replacement for my K750 this coming October.
I need to solicit your opinion on what model I should purchase.

I have two in mind: K800 and N73

What model should I choose?

Both of them have 3G & 3.2MPX Autofocus Camera
but N73 has a huge display and has a Symbian OS compared to K800.

I really need your opinion. Any of the two is great for me.

Thanks!!!

havin tha same dilemma pañero! hehehe

but tell yah what... review wise, those phones are nearly incomparable... just like what mobile-review.com is saying... its really up to your own personal taste.. these phones as imaging phones are one of the best if not tha best.

K800, has predefined imaging Features which makes it easier for the user to get quality shots...

N73, has imaging modes of its own tho not as intricate as K800, but the mechanism within the phone makes the resulting image just perfect enuff for printing. (besides its good video of course)

drawbacks.. theyre almost tha same... N73 shuts itself off once in awhile if not everytime
K800, well it has tantrums of its own.

ei! tell you what... my plan is to buy an N73 for tha meantime... test it out a bit... after for sometime if i find it annoying, ill replace it with a K800 and hope that it has good status by that time, a very stable one of course.

thanks for the info!

i'm really confused now. hehehe...

I hope you could post a topic soon about the pros & cons of the N73 as that would give me a bird's eye view of what the phone is all about.

it really doesn't matter which of the two I will purchase. both of them has outstanding features.

but then again, the confusion! hehehe...

have you read the review here http://www.mobile-review.com/review/nokia-n73-en.shtml? From this page there is also a link to the camera review with some informative comparison with k800i.

but from your initial post I get the impression that you're leaning to n73 (bigger screen and symbian, and not mentioning any advantage of k800).

If i were to chose, I guess I'll take the one that's cheaper . In my case that's usually the tie breaker between similar spec phones.

I'd lean towards the N73. Almost the same quality camera, and much better video recording. Huge display meaning perfect browsing, video watching and image viewing. None of which K800 excels in.

K800 is better than N73 in ONE factor only - night photo. For the rest, N73 beats K800 hands down - much better video rec, bigger screen, better day photo, much bigger screen, stereo speakers and symbian

I had an N93 and had to sell it because the software was so terribly bugged, I'm presuming the close relative, N73 is just the same.

I got a K800i with a proper walkman headset, half gig stick and some scrteen protectors new off ebay for a total of less than £250, had it one day and love it.

I have both, the screen isn't that much bigger to be honest.

Depends on what you want out of a phone, I prefer the camera on the k800 over the n73 but the n73 will let you do symbian things and browsing is better.

I have both a N73 and K800i, and trying to be as impartial as possible, I'm going against the majority opinion so far, and say the K800 is the better bet, here's why;

Personally I think the K800 looks better, and is more tactile and generally feels better built. (not that the N73 is bad, but the lens slide cover on the N73 is a little shakey after about 2 weeks use, K800 is still tight as new)

The photo quality on the K800 is better. Period, no matter what anyone says the K800 is better, an opinion shared by my friend who is a professional sports photographer. Also the K800 has a true flash, and it works, unlike the 'light' on the N73.

The N73 has an upperhand if you say Symbian, BUT it has pros and cons.

Pro's : if you want lots of programs , then symbian has this advantage, BUT it is Symbian v3, which has a tiny catalouge, and is not generally backwards compatible with older Symbian software.

Very adaptable.

Con's : Symbian v3 is slow, especially compared to the K800, and I get driven up the wall with the lag on the menus. This also get worse the more media you put on it. Fill it with video and pics and songs, and it gets r e a llllllllllyyyyyy S.........L...........O.............W.

I would argue that the vast majority of people never use the full potential of the symbian system, so in reality it's not a huge advantage.

My opinion : get the K800.

Would have to agree with this 100%, just like to add the K800i has to be the best phone I have ever had, however it does miss that certain something Nokia phones tend to have. I would say it’s much like a Volkswagen Golf, does everything well, is reliable but overall a tad boring and without character.

You conveniently forgot to mention the advantages N73 have over K800
1. much better video rec
2. screen size that is 40% bigger
3. stereo speakers,
4. much better OS in symbian with support for many applications that K800 can only dream to have
5. better quality games
6. office/pdf document support
7. much better web browser
8. bigger capacity and 50% cheaper memory card
9. true multi-tasking
10. much better blog system
11. EDGE/PTT/GPS (for those who needs it)

N73 is a tad slower in menu speed but it is NOT that slow. And if you load up K800 gallery with photos and videos, it also C R A W L. And many reviewer said the N73 photo is better in terms of color vividness and clarity.
