You will get a good answer as soon as you tell us what you mean by the difference between closing recent and open applications.

So I assume you talk about the built-in Task manager, not Swiss Manager. In any case, you can only "close" programs that are "open" (that is, running). So, for closing all running programs at once, use the "Open" list and the "End all" menu command. Note that Swiss Manager's purpose is to do all this and more better.

I had Swiss Manager installed on my P1i and it drained A LOT of battery. Is that normal? I'm sure it's because of the Swiss Manager (with fixed icons in the upper right corner of the screen). A friend confirmed this problem. so WTF?

No, it's not normal. Swiss Manager (Free or Pro) does not cause significant battery drain, as confirmed by our tests and many hundreds of users. You could do some systematic tests to determine what really is responsible for the drain. Also, make sure that you only install original copies downloaded from reliable sites.

Right!! Just realised that the one installed on my phone was a crappy copy, a cracked pro version. I got it from a friend and I didn't analyzed that. I uninstalled it, threw it away. Eventually I'll buy it I really appreciate other's work. So.. does this drain battery? I mean.. is it a visible difference in battery life after installing it?

I've been using SMP for half a year now, first on my old W950 and now on my new P1i. I didn't notice any significant battery drain

The much expected new SMP is released today. Version 1.70 is quite a major update, with many new features and enhanced behavior.

Feature list:
- Support for invoking functions from other applications.
- Application setup command to configure applications not currently running.
- New options for instant display of Favorites.
- New option to perform cleanup on startup.
- New status icon format displaying large size text.
- Selectable display of time or free memory on status icon.
- Enhanced file copy operations.
- Improved performance and reliability.
- Numerous additional enhancements, optimizations, and bugfixes.

SMP 1.70 can execute its most important commands upon requests from other applications. Such interface is provided by our popular Function server plugin for GDesk. As an example, it is now possible to close all background apps without leaving GDesk.

The free edition of Swiss Manager is also updated to version 1.70, with some new features and improved internal engines.

Comments are welcome as always!
