Go into SMP's meny, then settings, then at the bottom of the task patch u see memory reclaim: Level with a drop down meny, there u can choose Level3

hey lisa,
would cellphonesoft consider releasing a program that just just deals with tar, untar, zip, unzip, rar, unrar etc?
Cos such a prog would definitely be usefull to a lot of users out there. |

| Such program is on our list of possible future projects, depending on demand. Current available applications in this scope include X-plore by LCG and jZip by FreEPOC. Check them out and feel free to tell us if you want more.

lisa, i own a w950i & have tried out jZip by freEPOC but for some reason, after installing, when i try opening the prog, it says NOT FOUND...
hence, it would be really great if u guys could release a stand alone prog for the same... |

Hmm, I seem to have less free ram at startup after this update. Anybody else with this? I have around 1 to 2 MB ram less now after the latest update. Not sure if it has anything to do with SMP, but that is the only thing I have changed on my phone right now

| Look, SMP does not have any background component which is autostarted. How could it take your memory after startup? You can check the amount without even running SMP. Or do you mean memory reclaim by SMP is less efficient now than it was? In any case, we need more reliable data on this.

You could do the following:
1 - restart phone in FC, do not run SMP
2 - display Main menu, then go back to Standby
3 - check RAM with More/Status repeatedly until it does not change at all (may take minutes!)
4 - record the last, non-changing value
5 - start SMP in FC, then put it to background
6 - again check RAM with More/Status
7 - compare to previous value
The above process, if you do it precisely, will give you the amount of RAM that SMP uses. It is around 0.4-0.5 MB. Anything you experience before item 5 above is not related to SMP.

It seems like the SMP only takes up 0.6 MB on my phone. But I cant understand why my ram is less now? I have not changed anything at all and not added anything new. Maby I have to do it all over again from the start. Anyway, thx Lisa

| Try to remember what you did between (2) the restart when you first noticed the memory loss and (1) the last restart before that.
