@ All you 3 network users
You will lose all content stored on the phone (contacts, messages, pictures, video, etc) when you debrand (and everything on the memory card if you leave it inserted).
Debranding removes all operator-specific branding, so the top left icon will say "Play Now" instead of taking you to your operators portal. This also includes the custom media player (I'm not on three so I have no idea how it differs to the standard player).
Debranding is basically reloading the phone with the uncustomised firmware so settings cannot be saved (similar to the way you'd lose everything on your PC if you formatted and reinstalled Windows).

ok, so there is some kind of 'media' player on the unbranded phone.
Thats good because I hate the portal 3Player. It is not a player at all, it just links you to their mp3 purchase page!
I just noticed on the free themes section of this site the icons are obviously unbranded, there is a radio icon where my '3' phone has a video phone icon.
Will I no longer be able to video phone?

Of course you will be able to video-phone. The pictures must be from the K790. On my generic K800 there is video phone icon. The radio is under entertainment. |

Hi,
I have been trying to use Wotanserver to flash my Orange K800i. Although I have 5 credits and the server confirms this when I check my account when I try to do the flash it stops halfway through saying "Invalid server or 0 credit". I have had no fix from Wotan as yet and I am not the only person on the Wotan forum to have this problem.
Has anyone had a similar problem? Those Orange icons are driving me mad? |

Ive just used to Wotanserver to de-brand my O2 K800i. Ive switched it on and the screen stays permanently at "Please wait". Any ideas? |

So if i debrand it voids all the warrenties i have with the network ?? does include insurance as well ??
I mean its only debranding, i doubt how flashing it to an official firmware will void my warrenty ? i mean do vodafone even look out for this sort of thing ??
If it does void the warrenty, can i flash the vodafone firmware back for warrenty reasons ?

I have just bought a secondhand k800i locked on the 3 network. I want to unlock it to be able t use t-mobile and o2 sim cards. i called 3, and they said i would have to get the registered owner on their system to call, but i have had no response from them. Is there any way i can get this phone unlocked as it is unuseable to me.If not, does anyone know when the software will be out. I am new to all this software and firmware stuff!! |

Is it worth debranding my O2 k800 - minimal branding but will flashing with genric firmware give me back any lost features or improve performance.
Whats the latest firmware as i have r1cb001

Ok, debranded my UK 3 K800i. didn't need to enter any of the mms or web settings, they all seem to work fine as it is. It did download some when I first turned it on......anyone else find this? |

When you first switch the handset back on, it will attempt t orecgonise your network and download the appropriate settings. Never workor me, count yourself lucky! I just popped onto the SE website and sent them to my handset from there. |

debranded now. The internet icon has moved to the middle top from the top right and I now have the play now icon there.
Can a UK 3 user tell me what was in the middle top right before debranding? I can't remember and want to know what has gone.

i have just done this and got a "please wait" message on my phone so i removed the battery for one minute and put it back in. i then tries to turn my phone on and the phone is just dead. i wont turn on, it wont charge. it is dead.
this sh1t has destroyed my phone
anyone , please, please, PLEASE help |
