So they'll act like the two buttons already under the screen?
What a pain in the bum, so how do you answer a call and end calls then? |

Note quite. They'll revert back to the default SE behaviours.
In other words, the top buttons will be 'soft' buttons (i.e. they change function based on where you are in the menu; when entering a number, left is 'call' and right is 'more', when in a call, right is 'end' and left is 'more', and so on).
Edit: When I say 'top' buttons, I mean the buttons directly under the screen, not the little ones above the screen.
The left and right buttons (the small ones, with green 'make call' and red 'end call' icons on Voda handsets) will then be used for their original purpose: web access and shortcuts, respectively.
The back and clear buttons will remain the same.
Does that make sense?
To my mind, the default SE button layout is - surprise, surprise - far, far better than the Voda layout… For starters, all the buttons are used at all times, and you have access to more functions within fewer presses. Not to mention that you don't need an 'end call' button when you're not in a call…
When will networks learn that branding should be less intrusive, not moreso?

does anyone know if wotanserver have the Hong Kong (traditional chinese/english) language version of the firmware to update?
Also do they have an option to remove the simlock?

All sounds good - but how will it effect the update service? Will the phone be recognised and updated over the air? |

I'm also interested to know if de-branding the phone will affect it's ability to upgrade once a new firmware is released. |

As I understand it, the de branding should not affect the on air upgrade process at all.
In fact setting the phone back to the default sony erricson settings will probably result being able to use this service quicker than a branded phone. Any firmware updates will be first made on a standard platform and then ported over to the networks branded terminals. |

Just used the WotanServer software to reflash my phone after I kept getting operation failed when trying to open the apps or games folder. The re-flash worked a treat, the software was extremely easy to use and took about 10 minutes to complete.
I now have an unbranded firmware of course rather than my original 02 one, but that's not a problem. I think I prefer it that way anyway.
7 euros was a bargain compared to the hassle of sending the phone back to 02.

Make sure you backup everything you have stored on the phone if you wish to use it again. eg. contacts, pictures, games. I have also heard reccomendations to remove the USIM and memory card first. I didn't and have had no trouble but it is better to be on the safe side. |

I debranded my K800i today and got rid of 3's settings...
Is it possible to re-brand the phone if something goes wrong with it? Like if some button stops working or so... |

I don´t think so, but you can get all settings you need here
http://www.tre.se/templates/Sporg3_03.aspx?id=24478 (swedish 3)
3player and chat software will pobably be gone. And the headphone button to 3player will have another funktion. And i don´t know how to make backup the software.
I´ll change my phone to orginal software but not right now i want to try this 3 software first.
It would be great if you tell us how it work to de-brand your phone.
