@Glenny: I picked it (UX50) off dynamism, and got a trade in for my old U8G + $650 + Shipping. Seemed like a good deal. But I didn't get any of the extras which dynamism traditionally throws in. A new one would cost around $1600 + Shipping, but they throw in prettu much everything; free upgrade to XP Pro, Free Carry Case, External DVD +/- RW, the works. But not for my trade in.
Still, I couldn't ask for a better deal. Hope it comes in by tonight. Otherwise it'll have to be tommorrow.

Just arrived, Tore open the box etc . Love this little thing already.
Everything is in Japanese, got to run th recovery DVD with english selected as the language. .
Just some general pics, will post more tomm, now am off to play with this thing.
EDIT: These pics dont do this device any justice, its roughly the width of a CD Case and much shorter then it. Its tiny!!! I dont get how they managed to squeeze in a Intel Core Solo U1300, 512 MB RAM, 30 gig HDD, Bluetooth, Wifi etc, into such a tiny package.

This thing is a beauty! Debu you are one lucky person I'd love to get my hands on this device but it hasnt arrived in the UK yet..
I've been planning to buy a laptop for uni but I might just hold back for a while if this device does the job of a laptop... Gotta feel it in my hands to decide on that.

So, anyone here got one? Cause I got a couple of questions.
@rule_breaker: Thanks mate, if your interested, the American and Japanese versions are available through Dyanamism. I highly recomend them, I buy pretty much all my gear through them. I've got 13 very prompt deliveries from them in 4 different addresses.

Sony has upgraded the UX-180P with a UX-280P.
The UX280P, doubles both the RAM(1Gb) and the HDD size(40GB) from that of the UX180P The processor remains the same ol' Core Solo U1200, and there's still EDGE, WiFi and Bluetooth radios. Unfortunately, the price has now reached the $2000 mark.

Its just released here going for between £1200 to £ 1500 . The lower price is in the shops in Singapore. One there quoted £1100 .. { I shop mostly Singapore for electronics and computer equipment as in Malaysia they always want to overcharge me. } |
