I would like to start a petition to make SE put in a pin code lock for files/images/videos/folders in future firmware upgrades for the K750/W800 . I would like a few people to help me set up this petition and to contact SE and tell them what we are doing. Please pm me or leave details here. Thanks,

petitionsonline is an easy place to do this and indeed there have been many petitions created there (such as java in T68i) etc etc but to be honest, I have never heard of one of these actually working

good luck though

Thanks, i was allready planning to use petition online, considering putting a pin code lock would not take much work and if we can get a lot of people involved and keep telling SE we might be able to get something done about it. I would also like a text messages lock!

at the very least, this thread alone will show that our members seriously do want this feature

Why do you want so many locks on your phone ?

Shame on you, u are trying to hide somethings?

The next thing you will ask for the phone book lock.

No, its just to lock things that you dont want other people to see, personal information, personal pictures, etc....

If i dont get enough interest, i might aswell drop the petition as so far i have not had any good feedback.

I think it would be very useful to have that feature. Sometimes you can have private pics or videos that you don't want other people to see.

i think the easiest way to do this would be to have a code to lock the keypad with infinate tries so it would not be permenantly locked. (though some may waste their life trying to get into it!) and also a lock on memory cards or like you said everything else.

If you have something to hide, dont allow others to have access to your phone.
Transfer the pics you want to keep secret on hidden folders on your pc or laptop etc.

I think its pointless having locks on phones, its probally just people who want to hide thier porn and perverted £2.50 kinky sms messages they save. Most phones dont have this function and it is not needed if you have such private things on your phone, then dont put them on there. At the end of the day its a phone not a mass storage device, its a phone with added capabilities. LOCKS AINT NEEDED!!

cheers

I'd like pin-code protected files too.
So would many others as I've seen this topic discussed before.

Edit: have added my name to the above petition.

Why not get somebody with the necessary smarts to create an app like Smart Crypto? It's a Symbian app which works wonderfully, allows you to do password-protect any file on any drive, etc etc

I also have sorely missed this feature in SE phones. I'm quite sure it can be easily done if SE wants to. If there are programs out there to lock the phone with a password, I'm all ears.

I've added my name to the petition. Hope it works. They should try to put it in the recent firmwares of K750 and W800

I think it is a good idea to have lock on phone such as in message, picture, video, audio and other things.

Some times we need our own privacy to not letting others see what we keep in our message or private stuff such as your lovely wife's picture or something similar which you would like to keep it FOR YOUR EYES ONLY ^_6

It doesnt means that what ever you lock have to do with things which is bad ^_6
