K750i: Protected directories? |

Hi,
Is there any way to pin/password-protect certain directories on the K750i? When I go to Media Player -> All Videos, it shows all the videos on my phone. I don't think my girlfriend would be too happy if anyone else was browsing my media player and found those
Many thanks,
Matt |

AFAIK there is not such option now.
If you're looking for a file and folder security feature, it is not currently available which will also require applications, such as the media player to honor the file and folder security. A major re-write, if I may say. |

its just a mobile phone.
folder protection is not so basic for a phone.
even in windows you need third party apps to do that, like folder-lock, folder-protect |

Not if you use NTFS and set security properly, but yeh, the phone can't do it

Every1 has ntfs but the majority prefer 3rd party apps.
The reason is that your method is vulnerable to safe mode. |

ah sorry I suppose a camera a video recorder a media player / mp3 player, java support, bluetooth ..etc is basic
seriously to code a folder password takes 5 lines of text as maximum and could be easily implemented in the next firmware
var pas = ***
input x
if x = pass
then goto folder ***
else print 'you are not allowed to acces this folder'
quit defending SE you fanboys (no offense but some people here are die hard sony fans they would jump off a hill after sony ) if we don't get the message across we don't get better phones with more features, I like SE phones, I would like to make them better

Windows? Don't mock me I use Linux, and the lack of security on my K750i makes me shudder
Seriously though, at least a key pad lock that requires the phonecode to unlock the keypad would be ideal... I had that feature on my Siemens M65, and my girlfriend's Samsung D500 has lockable directories.
It seems like a big omission to me.

Not everyone has NTFS. FAT32 is a popular one for Windows. |

Name a phone that has this feature. The key word being phone. It is not a secure device. Be realistic.
*edited on a Mac of course. Mac: There is no substitute*
N82(YES), iPhone 3G, Shure es530, Nikon D300, more stuff. No more SE stuff, why am I still here? |

sapporobaby: You asked me to name a device. The Samsung D500.
Also my old Siemens M65 at least had a pin-locked keylock option.
