For me i think it's worth it, lalo na pag nasa labas ako at may kailangan tawagan sa house via landline.. or yung convenience na pwede akong tawagan ng mga clients ko kahit na nasa labas ako using their landlines..

I have connected to the internet through airnet.

Once you're connected, sa fone unit mo will display "PPP Data Call"

I even downloaded a song using Limewire..

For the Username: 632+your 7 digit airnet number (eg. 63261X-XXXX)
For the Password: airtalk
Dial-up Number is: #777

surely people from the target market already have phone lines in their offices and in their homes. so why get an additional CDMA phone that you have to charge every so often and which has a short battery life? thus, this phone will only be attractive in areas where there are no existing lines. and for people who want to use it in a mobile sense. ironically, chances are that these areas that dont have existing phone lines also dont have any "useable" signal from broadband at the moment. i was mostly interested in just leaving it in my van and using it while on the road or using the data call with my laptop, a mobile office if you will. testing it for 2 days in my regular route, i cant justify getting one at the moment.

Another target market would be those who would want to have additional lines especially condo units without anymore provisions for additional cables...

In my case, I have the call forwarded to my broadband phone whenever the house phone is either busy or has received an incoming message or fax. It's cheaper than having it forwarded to my mobile.

News... As of today, all ZT100 units are on hold. New models would replace the ZT100 effective tomorrow.

For business owners, who live in one of the several target areas and hold their office in another target area, this is very much worth it. I use my airnet as my secondary business fone so my clients can still contact me even if i'm already home. I'd rather give my airnet number to my clients than give my residential number. When my airnet rings at home, i'll know it is a business call. When my residential number rings, i'll know it's a personal call. I know this will not be attractive for employees (whose work begins and ends inside the office).

Airnet can not replace fixed landlines like pldt, bayantel, and globelines, due to it's limited coverage; and i have to admit that I have no immediate plans of terminating my subscription to the services of fixed landlines and broadband internet.

I have a broadband connection at home and use wi-fi for my laptop (my router is just 5 ft away from my laptop). And for people who often use their laptops in coffee shops, this is a perfect alternative for prepaid wi-fi cards.

Basically, it really depends on the person's lifestyle and priorities to say if it's really worth it or not. "What's 660php for people who spend thousands for a weekend's night-out and gadgets like laptops, ipod, cellfones, u name it.. or even hundreds for coffee or movies"..

As far as i'm concerned i benefit a lot from airnet.
I love my S700i..

I was at their UMC building office the other day. One of their personnel showed me a coverage map. Syeett! Limitado talaga.

I asked for a copy sabi nila di daw pwede. Hanggang tingin lang.

Palagay ko, kulang lang ako sa appeal.

This is a job for 619 and dlreyes.

(Pengeng kopya ha?)

By the way, if you're in the "fringe" areas, like Greenhills, swertihan lang daw ang connection.

Sometimes, pag hindi makapag tawag, then dati naman nakapag tawag ako, i'd just reset the unit (turn it off, then on)..

@gowin - hindi ba pinakita muna sa inyo kung saan saan ang limited coverage bago binenta sa inyo yan? misleading kasi yung signal display sa unit. dapat yan may full disclosure of existing areas and future areas to be covered with dates of implementation para if you still decide to buy inspite of the limited coverage, then you have no one to blame but yourself.

I love you loko_loko - swoosh

Who's blaming who? walang nag be-blame dto.. like i said..
"what is 660php?"

You don't see 619 and dlreyes complaining. and i myself doesn't have any problems with it..

When i first heard about airnet especially how affordable the service is considering the features it offers, we're skeptic about it. Kilala naman namin ang nag offer ng airnet and somehow we trust him. we said, what the heck, what's 605php for a registration fee na may 1 month subscription. September pa lang, may order na kami. Kahit ang official launching nya is on october pa.

Even up to now marami pa ring deadspots ang sun, globe and even smart.

Yet another innovation, a mobile telephone unit with a "landline number" and data communication capabilities.

So far ok naman ang signal sa mga areas where i go or stay often. madalas akong nasa eastwood, pero i can't make and recieve calls there. but i don't care, kasi i don't live in eastwood naman and i stay not more than 5 hrs there on a weekend. When i drive, there are spots where i can not make and recieve calls. But this is fine as long as walang traffic ng more than 3hrs.

@vwb
No, I wasn't aware of any coverage map before. It was only by chance that a personnel from their office showed one to me.

p.s. "innovation" ba ng airnet ang "mobile telephone with data communication capabilities"?
