Sony Xperia T & TX thread |

I was able to upload most of my Playlist into Google Music Manager. however, there's a max of 1000 songs in one playlist. I have several playlist with some over 2000, it cuts off at 1000. hard to enjoy it like that. but all my playlist with less than 1000, does upload and plays fine. although some songs are missing... I had the same problem with itunes. either format or filename issues. I have many songs not in english, .i.e. Japanese, Chinese, Koreans characters.
btw, question to all, but maybe Ricky D knows.... how do I root my TX?

Just had it - Xperia T - in my hands today.
So cool, well made etc.
But I thought my Xperia S is still great.... Maybe I should wait for the 2013 flagship.

u mean the Xperia V? which is coming out January 2013 at the latest? that phone is a beauty. I'm eyeing that one as well. it everything that is Xperia T/TX, minus the 4.5, but 4.3 instead (which is fine) and best of all, IP57 certified, meaning water and dustproof. AND removable battery, the same as my amazing TX (LT29i). It also will come with JB 4.1.

@Big_D
If you're running FW 7.0.A.1.xxx you can use bin4ry's root many script which is dead simple, unpack the zip, run the .bat and follow the instructions.
If you're on 7.0.A.3.xxx you can currently only root by unlocking the bootloader, flashing a new kernel and flashing a root patch from CWM.
I can give you further instructions if you need them.
@doministry
I'd be tempted to wait just a few months for what comes out of CES/MWC the worst that will happen is you don't like the new devices and T or S will be cheaper. Saying that I bought TX not long after launch, I just couldn't wait.

Still liking my Xperia S too, but already looking to buy the new flagship phone from Sony in early 2013. I tried the Xperia T in my local 02 store a couple of days ago, and I was impressed by the build quality, design and general feel of the device. I have to say, I prefer it to the Xperia S, especially with the way it feels in the hand.
If I didn't already have the Xperia S, I would have certainly opted for the T instead.

I bought my TX when it just came out, mainly because I seriously wanted it, but also because I was in need of a new phone and so might as well. I don't regret buying it so soon, because it's a great phone with a beautiful design. Sure, things can be better like battery life, but a upgraded FW or Android update can fix that.
Just checking out the Xperia 2013 Rumors thread, some interesting info being leaked. nice ideas about the new 2013 phones.
But nothing that would make me choose over my TX, other than the Xperia V. However, the Xperia V is really great because of it's IP57 certification, and it's everything T/TX have in a slightly smaller screen size.
as for the new 2013, only thing would interest me is probably new feature like dual sim card reader, or dual MicroSD card.

I am also tempted to buy XT.
But at the same time the difference between S and T is not that huge. Both are powerful and quite complete.
Plus the money I have to spend and the time I need to "recover"....
I'll evaluate this further.

With Google Music ...
(sorry edited to save posting space.
How much does Google Music cost? What bitrate is the music you stream and re-download? Do you have a choice of the bitrate when streaming or re-downloading? When I upload to iTunes Match I get a much cleaner master of the majority of the torrented tracks I've uploaded (there is no DRM and iTunes has been allowing non DRM tracks for almost 2yrs now)- $29.99/yr with 25000 songs, not 5000. Google should be subsidizing ... I want to move over to Droid but my hard-earned spinach will always go to music first & foremost. Maybe PM me if you have more details I don't wish to derail this thread.
Thanks.

I got my Xperia T, I love it!
What apps do you guys recommend to download? Also what case and screen protector is the best one? My screen attracts so many finger prints and dust.

OpenSignal is one of my favourites. Always makes sure you have the best possible signal.
VLingo - and old favourite.
Evernote
Google Music
Whatsapp
Voxer - walkie talkie app.
Google Drive
Speedtest
Chrome to Phone

From both lists I use those in italics, but I recommend:
WiFi File Explorer
Nova Launcher
Widgetsoid
File Expert (file browser that can access shared docs on networked Windows machines)
Unified Remote (wifi/bluetooth mouse/keyboard/media remote for networked Windows machines)
Dropbox
Titanium Backup if you have root
I used to use Chrme to Phone like goldenface but the Chrome app will sync all last open tabs from all devices (up and down) that you've signed into with the need for remembering to press the extra button and wait for it to pass over to the handset.
