That is indeed correct Ricky, the fall 2013 Sony flagship will eclipse Yuga/Odin but sadly it seems it's been delayed to October now from the earlier expected shipment timeframe of Q3 13.
I know it's a long time until October, but still... could you give some clues as to what will make these 2H phones so remarkable? |

Sony tries to patent stylus with friction-based haptic feedback
There's a certain disconnected feeling that comes with using a touchscreen, and Sony isn't content with vibration being the sole standard for haptic feedback. The company has filed a bunch of patent applications for a stylus which instead uses artificially generated friction to make it harder or easier to move across the screen. It works using a "rolling contact ball gripping mechanism," which responds to instructions from the phone or tablet and employs actuators to increase or decrease friction on the roller ball tip. The various filings outline some potential benefits of this stylus-based haptic feedback, including being able to feel yourself "carving and molding" 3D objects in a design application, or understanding your character is "fatigued or damaged" while playing a game. We know that Samsung increased the friction of the Note II's S-Pen to make it feel more like writing on paper, but Sony's approach would potentially bring a whole new layer of interaction. |

It must be for the 6" phablet.....i don't think it is for Yuga/Odin.......

Here is what zomgbbqwtf had to say recently on NeoGAF
This is supposedly what is coming. They will ship AOSP with few modifications and preload all of their apps onto it like PS-Mobile, Music Unlimited, Video Unlimited, that photo uploading software, Walkman and their video playing software.
It would allow Sony to react to new versions of Android very, very quickly as they may only modify it slightly rather than rewrite wholesale parts of the OS as they currently do.

Can anyone confirm? This seems to support the info posted here about Sony working on a new way of delivering Android in the future. |

Just tossing this out there randomly, but how hard do you guys think it'd be for Sony to create a device that dual boots Android and Vita OS? Considering how locked down the Vita is and how fearful Sony is of piracy, I'd imagine that said device would have to keep both OS's completely seperate, possibly not even sharing the same internal storage.
But anyways, complex hardware issues aside, would such a thing really be possible? Would such a thing sell in your opinion? |

That is very interesting, it would create a situation approaching that of Windows Phone 7 or even a Windows PC (i.e. when you buy a VAIO laptop and it comes with all the applications but you can apply updates/service packs to the OS without affecting the other programs)
If Sony hosted all of those apps on the Android store so that they could be updated separately I could see very rapid deployment of updates. |

I've fancied this idea too since quite some time. Give AOSP android and then later provide a "add on Sony skin" after a few weeks or so. |

Quite obvious that the authors are Sony fanboys at heart who can't stand Sony's blissful ignorance in their mobile business model

While I'd love a water resistant phone, I personally care more about the IR blaster that Odin will have. I love using the feature on my tablet, but I don't always have it with me. It'll be amazing to have it on my phone. |

Randomuser, March or April for the launch date? So they want to compete directly with SGSIV, iphone 5S, lumia's 920 upgrade and perhaps HTC's or LG's Tegra 4 phones? Sony should postpone all the other phones and launch their 1080p flagships asap, because quad Krait can't match Quad A15, HTC's equivalent is already here and nothing can compete with S line and iphone and their giant marketing budgets:( |

I really don't understand the size thing...i mean both of them will come with a 5" display so why one bigger and another one smaller???Yuga might be thinner but width matters more since it affects the comfort of your grip.
