right, well, I sold my 8800 a while back but recently I was thinking about getting another... and today I did
after one hour I am already wondering why did I do this to myself?
its a real love/hate relationship. The kind you sometimes get when you have a girlfriend that you want to see and then when you're with her, you can't wait to get away, and when you do get away you can't wait to see her again!
perhaps I should have listened to that old addage of once bitten, twice shy?
arrrggghhh!
well, I'll give it a few days I suppose...
can anyone explain this phenomenon? (about the 8800, not women, no one can explain them!)

I think its the primativeness.
You can't even turn the camera on without navigating the menus, although you can set what one function the right soft key performs but I don't always want the camera, often I want the radio.
btw, I now have to buy another stereo headset for listening to the radio as I did last time as it only comes with a single piece headset!
like I said, I'll give it a few days and perhaps just treat it as I do my V3 which is just a smart looking phone with limited function compared to my other phones

the 8800 is just an addicts phone.
I know that I could get better.
I know I'll have to treat it like gold and be extra carefull.
But I still want it.

@ masseur - i know exactly what you mean, I have had 3 nokia 8800's for my own use and loved them, only because it looks and feels so damn nice, its like a metal peble in my hand, but then texting is a right bitch, along with dialing number that are not in your phone book. Then you have those bloddy little buttons at the top arrr does my head in.
The problem is I have this with all phones, the p910i is great, but to bulky
the nokia 6822 I am using is gret, but im bored of it now
the w800i is just booring,
the k750i is the same as the w800i (though it came before) and has loer build quality
the w900 is one chunky monky
and so on, I don't think I will ever have a phone im truley happy with...

I can honestly say that I am truly happy with the k-jam
the 8800, V3 etc etc are just secondary phones that I use but I still feel these mixed emotions.
perhaps I should just get 2 k-jams!

8800 Is great, Yesterday I had three, but sold the gold one now only have 2, one for everyday use, and one, well really to sell (was going to use it just for going out, but i've scratched my main one now so don't mind it getting damaged).
Great phones, I know what you mean about them though, didn't think i'd miss it when I got rid, but bought another a week later.
It feels great in your hand, love the slide, screen is crisp... sure the bottom 3 buttons make texting a job and a half, and battery is poor; but it looks so great i don't care anymore
(On the look out for a black housing!)

one thing I am now reminded of having synched the phone again is that I am impressed by is the Nokia PC suite
in terms of functionality and ease of usability it blows the SE suite out of the water IMHO

load up my contacts and calendar
I also installed opera mini via the pc suite as the phone complained the download was too big (not enough memory) although there is 40odd meg still free!
