I have a Palm Zire 71 and a T300. My network is Sun, but Sun does not yet have gprs service. Is it possible to browse the web on my Zire using my T300 as a modem? If so, how? What software would I need? And how do I config my T300 to do that?

I know that I already posted this problem to another forum, but when I originally posted it here, I hadn't yet found this thread...
Just purchased a K700i from SE directly, and it arrived with Firmware R2AE033. I've been using a Palm Tungsten T3 to connect to T-Mobile VPN GPRS service for about a year now on a T610 with zero problems.
With the K700i, though, I can connect, surf, check e-mail, ssh, etc. However, as soon the Palm disconnects the GPRS connection, the K700i _completely_ freezes up, to the point that the battery has to be removed... No buttons or keys work, and the display and backlight are stuck...
This was confirmed with two K700i phones (both unlocked, same firmware), as well as with a Tungsten T3 and a brand new Tungsten T5.
Sony Ericsson support simply said that "we don't support Palm." Palm support said that since the device was able to establish a GPRS connection, Sony Ericsson was to blame.
Does anyone have an idea of why this may be happening, or, more importantly, how to get around it? I'm at wits end with this... Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Also, if anyone is successfully using any PhoneLink-based Palm with a K700i in this manner, could you please post your phone firmware revision, GPRS provider, Palm model, etc? I'm trying to nail down the problem link in this chain. (To get firmware revision on a K700i, press >*<<*<* - where < and > mean pressing the joystick control left or right once.)
Again, thanks... I appreciate your help. |

My ol t68i broke down a couple of weeks ago and I had to get at k700i.
I have exactly the same problem as you have when I disconnect a GPRS session connected over bluetooth from Tungsten T.
I have also set up the connection by using the latest Phone Link application from PalmOne.
When I used the t68i had set up connection by entering the settings manually but that doesn't seem to work with k700i
IMHO this must be the fault of
What's your opinion?

To solve the problem I downloaded the the latest Phone Link apllication from PalmOne and installed it. But instead of using the settings for you operator in the Phone Link application I created my own network connection. Now it works.
It seems that you need the Phonelink application but the settings (atleast for operator Telia) are faulty.
Intresting though that this makes the k700 hang...
