Hey folks i successfully updated my Firmware to World Generic R9J005 yesterday evening.

So far it hasnt turned itself off yet. Even the network drops which i experienced seem to hav disappeared.

But this can be too early to judge.

I will need to see how long i can keep it running and report back tomm

best phone ive ever used.. has only reset once in about 4 months, rarely on latest firmware. those that say it resets all the time are speculating i believe.

have had p800, p900, p990i, m600i and bucketloads of WM6 devices, wouldn't swap my P1i for anything.

I agree with you. P1 is the greatest phone I ever have. But I think something wrong with the bluetooth =).

Every time I push the limits of the phone while I listen to music over a2dp it restarts. And by pushing the limits I mean using opera through wifi. With the previous fw this wasn't happening that much.

According to my knowledge...

Uk using different firmware and India using different firmware and the difference is in network

its a firmware problem and thats why your network is getting affected
T200 -> T68i -> T610 -> K700i -> P910i -> W800i -> P990i -> M600i -> P1-> Nokia E71 -> X1i -> X10 -> Arc S -> Sony Z1 -> Sony Z Ultra -> Sony Z3+ -> iPhone 6 -> iPhone 7 Plus -> iPhone X -> iPhone XS Max

I think title should start with P1 Sucks!

Because I tried A2DP with a W580 and it was increadibly loud whereas P1 sucks with it. I can't believe how low the sound level is.

PS: I love P1 anyway

Did you try *up*down,down*down* into the system menu and raise the volume?

There isn't any submenus to raise the volume under system menu.

Still, you can say P1 max sound volume sucks, and not that the phone itself sucks

However, i am pretty happy with its max sound volume through hbh-ds970...its louder than my P990 was, and its enough for using on the gym (a loud place)

I know what you mean. This is enough for me as well. But in some circumstances I prefer to listen louder.

Try your DC970 with an w580 when have the chance, you wouldn't believe the loudness of the music

i agree, the decision about what max volume to use should be left to the user and not limited by SE...

Max sound volume sucks????? I keep hearing people say this a lot but I think the speakerphone is plenty loud already. Besides...are you seriously thinking of using this as a mini boombox? Fact of the matter is, unless you actually use the speakerphone for phone conversations, otherwise using it to play songs and movies is more of a novelty. If you want to talk about low max volume, you should try the Tilt (Tytn II). Now the speakerphone on that really does suck (>.>). Read here

for a little P1i vs Tilt comparison.

And last but not least ....
I agree with 701! ^^

@liaoip

You are right about the speakerphone but we are talking about headphones and A2DP transmission.

oooooooh (@__@)''''

well I read sound volume and I assumed incorrectly I guess.
Hmmm I'd love to try a A2DP headset, but the closest thing I have is just a bluetooth (Plantronics 640). The volume through that isn't too bad and can be quite loud. Though I'm guessing since it's only mono it works differently then the A2DP profile which probably takes a bigger toll on the system.

BTW, since we're on the topic, a few years back I got myself a Bluetooth USB adapter with A2DP and also got a headset with it. The sound quality was as bad as FM (maybe even AM) so I returned it all. Has this improved? What would you say the sound quality is like? Thanks!

I thought I read somewhere that you could use the service menu to raise the overall volume. Oh well, it's loud enough for me anyway
