What surprises me about Samsung though is there's no kind of lossless zoom, I wonder why?
On a 16mp camera with a sensor that's quite big I would have thought it was capable of it? I know you can zoom in on the 4k video.
I know Samsung phones will have a 20mp camera next year, I wonder if they will add it then?
Sony obviously have the 3x clear zoom but not sure if that's actually any good or not?

We may see lossless and OIS in the S5 Zoom if not then probably next year, I think Samsung are slowly going to develop their ISOCELL Cameras at their own pace, for as long as Instagram and so on remain popular ways of sharing images I don't think Sammy are too concerned about things like Lossless Zoom and OIS, they just want to ensure a fast, fluid and simple photography experience with great results, which is what they have achieved in the GS4 and now in the GS5. To think how some other OEM's Photography focused phone now takes long just to launch the camera after the KitKat update, and produces average results despite having lossless and a larger sensor is quite discouraging and probably one of many reasons why that OEM is still behind Samsung.

Haha Tsepz_GP true that is of all the other OEM's that use Sony sensors the only ones who can't get the processing right is the ones who actually make the sensors,Sony Samsung made the S4 images pin sharp I see no reason why they'd make the S5 ones crap

No,I am not buying one but I must admit after seeing one today that screen is even more vivid and impressively crisp, clear & vibrant than before. The extra inch you can see the difference too. This photo doesn't do it justice & the new UI look does look nicer
Sorry for some reason the photo won't rotate

Wow, GSMArena seem thoroughly impressed, they even rate it's display the best in the market
The color rendering has also been tweaked and now the Cinema mode offers as true to life colors as any other smartphone on the market. Not that the Galaxy S4 wasn't close enough for most purposes practical, but the Galaxy S5 really makes the "LCD offers more natural colors" argument useless. And, as usual, Samsung offers more saturated screen modes if you prefer your images punchy rather than accurate.
This means that Samsung has taken what was an already impressive display and made it the best on the market.
Battery life is incredible to:
And they pretty much go on to say the Galaxy S5 is the best smartphone out
Long story short, the five-star experience is there. The markup from the previous generation isn't as high perhaps as some may've hoped but that's what the other new flagships have to live with too. The best smartphone title is Samsung's to lose - now, that's tough - but the Galaxy S5 is saying: "Not on my watch."
Never has a review had me rethinking like this one, hmmm... Going to wait for Phonedog's video review, and also give PhoneArena's video review a look.
Samsung has got a bunch if billboards up and demos and so on going on all over for the Galaxy S5, they are making it extremely difficult for me to ignore it.

It looks like the Z1 camera performs better according to the review so the Z2 will be even better. |

Just checked the images on GSM Arena and I am not impressed at all. Compared to the GS4 they are awful

How much paid Samsung for this review?
Always the same, just like the S4, very good battery life screen you name it, but in real life usage very different.
That battery life is just silly, the most battery are lower in battery life than they present.
About screen, well another lie.
AMoles screen can't match up with IPS LCD, and they said with software shit can make happens, just go away gsm arena with your lies paid by Samsung. |

Than tell me why GSMarena always rate high battery life with Samsung and not Sony?
I know why, Sony battery is at best after two weeks usage improve greatly, but Samsung battery will lower after period of time.
Explain me please? |
