If its really going to be week 5 then that is just plain silly. Are we mugs? Waiting for over a year for a phone to come out, only for it to be bug riddened. Then being told to wait till week 48 for the 'new and improved' software, then being told to wait until early Jan, and now for Feb...surely that cant be right... |

Actually it is even worse: "we are NOT being asked to wait at all" !!! SE just don't gives a rat's behind about us customers! Period!
Anything we read here... just rumours, some with some little - most without any bases.

No, I wouldn't say it is a rumour any more. First of all some people got new fw ( although not officially released) and gave their impression on it. And early January was actually given by SE staff in a letter to one of the forum members.
But what is also true is that SE failed when it comes to communication with their costumers. Very unprofessional I would say. |

I was excited about this phone when the news broke. However its been so disappointing that the quality of the phone is so pooe. My phone just reset the other day while I was looking at a web page. Its blatant marketing sping to put this phone out in this condition.
Having working in manuf for many years I expect they realise they have to move to an upgraded hardware platform and are trying to and also as a second thought trying to answer questions about the installed base.
I expect the big carriers will not be happy either although they probably have plenty of phoen mfgrs to choose from.
it doesn't bode well for the new PS3 coming out in the new year. What will the quality of that be like - its the same kind of message. Delay, delay and more delay.
If it developed in Japan then I know they do not take easily to critical feedback on the work they do.
I send my phone back to Vodafone and cancelled my contract the phone was so bad. |

Hi friends,
It was not my intention to make you upset with my posting...the thing is I had a chance the other day to ask a person who I am sure would know..and this person said week 5 and said something about coordinating 3 versions of the P990 and that it caused a delay in releasing...I did not put any more questions to this person..and I will never disclose the name of the person I spoke to.
Cheers |

Well now it is something. If you meant 3 different fws than it makes sense because we did see three. From the other side you should ask for more. Nobody wants that person's head, sory name, just some reliable info:) |

What does it mean by 3 versions of firmware? Could it be referring to variation of different languages, for example, English, Chinese ,etc? It would be great news if it is so since the latest Chinese enabled version is only R2A05! |

i'm guessing it's probably for the P990i, a & c for international, americas and china versions |

But even with the P990i, there are different variations, English and Chinese. I am using a P990i, but with Chinese enabled. I sure am hoping that they will release an upgrade for the Chinese enabled. |

Yup, that's right, there are two versions of P990i here in Indonesia : world wide version and Singapore version. The latter one is chinese enabled.
I think the CDA is also different.
