@Jah

I have not put any userdata on my phone, i hardly used it! No pix taken, surfing, sound recording... just a small 50 user phonebook was transferred.

Oh, when I tried the first time to pair my p910 to my p990 to transfer the p910 phonebook, the p910 screen went black when pairing was finished! seeminly it did receive something from the p990 it did not like. Had to power cycle the p910 to get it running again! Then it went fine.

Strange stuff man! If only I could upgrade to see if my issues are firmware or hardware related, then I can return the phone knowing it was hardware, otherwise I'll end up with the same issues as before with a new p990!

Tasks and Appointments in Activity Menu are overlapping, so it's impossible to read anything.

@ ronis -- I have experienced the same problem in the Activity application. Very annoying.

One other thing that isn't a bug, but just a quirk: Is it just me or is it slightly pointless to have the FM Radio as an option for the alarm clock? You would have to have the headset in your ears. It is a good option in theory, but only if the headset didn't need to be plugged in. Anyone agree?

@dirkies

you may have a faulty phone, many members here have transferred P910/P900 data to a P990. I still think it worth trying one more thing - do a back-up and then Format Internal Drive from the service menu ("jog dial up * jog dial down jog dial down * jog dial down *") and then restore. If after this your BT is still working then I think you should return your phone.

Format Internal Drive may work as it appears that UIQ builds-up cached data and this data can cause problems if ti becomes corrupt.

sorry...its like that in every single SE phone (and other brands)...you always need the antena, and so you have to connect the headset

but can't you have the radio come onto speakerphone as an alarm?

you'd obviously still need the antennae (headphones) plugged in.

It is automaticly sent to the speaker of the phone when the alarm is set to FM-radio.

I'm very concerned with the way how BT transferred files are being handle by the P990i. It is going to a temporary storage area where the end user has to click the Save or Delete tab instead of going to the Inbox.

I've transferred some video files(3 MB) to the P990i, what happens is that I have a BT list of files already transferred with the Save and Delete tab. The Busy tab comes out flickering constantly and it took about ten minutes per video file for the BT transferred file to appear in the Inbox.

Another thing is that there is no ringtone for files received by BT.

The P990i could not cope with the BT transferred video files saved to the Inbox and it does the usual reboot to improve it's performance.

The P990i has been targetted for the businessmen, it is not able to restart itself to phone mode when it reboots as the end user needs to press the "Phone on" for the P990i to be used.

How do you make the businessmen not miss an important call or sms if the P990i decides to reboot itself when it is in his/her pouch or bag ?

There is also no visual confirmation that it is even powered up as you only have a pitch black screen and need to press a button to know that it is.

Not sure has this been reported already, I am using MDS-60 which is supposed to be able to charge the phone while listening to FM or Music. However, even after 5 hrs of non stop playing and charging, the phone still hovers around 65%... I tried doing this overnite and still the same... how can this be?

Also, found another bug in the alarm...

1. Set Alarm with very very loud ringtone and set Alarm sound level to MAX, the same ringtone and Alarm sound level I uses on my P910i, to kick me out of bed every morning.

2. Charge the phone and playback FM/MP3 and turn multimedia volume to very soft mode during the nite while I sleep. The same way I did on my P910i for the past 2 years.

3. Time up for alarm to scream... BUT... instead of pausing the FM/MP3 and kicks in the very very loud ringtone, all the P990i's alarm does when there is music being played back is, a very very very soft... tee too tee... tee too tee... and that's it... I think it cannot even wake up a bird!!

If I go to back to Alarm sound setting and press on the "music" icon to test my chosen alarm tone, it will automatically pause the FM/MP3 music and scream out that ringtone, which is correct.

I think no one mentioned this :

On FC and FO mode while speaking on the phone, there is no way you can turn into ACTIVITY MENU in the Task manager. It's never Highligted !!

This can be changed with the settings... It's crazy how much you will learn by reading the manual to the phone...

You can set the phone to start up in phonemode automaticly. (If you know you will fly you can set it back then) This will speed up the start a little bit..

Then you can set the screen to just dim to the wanted level and make it go to black first after 10 minutes or whaterver you want... or not at all.
This is a function I would like to be able to set diffrent for FO and FC.
I don't wan't the phone to turn off the screen when in FO but I do wan't it to close down to save battery and so when in FC.

more stuff:

annoying when you call someone, it briefly shows the previous contact you called, then refreshes the screen and shows the right contact, so the first second you think you are calling the wrong person.

also annoying, if you accidentally cancel an SMS, it asks you to save to draft yes or no, but no way you can cancel it, you have to save to draft to save your message and reopen it if you want to continue

the 3D golf game, if selected, will make your phone unresponsive for at least 30s before doing anything...like it hangs for apps, but you can still browse the menus!

wifi browsing: did a successful wifi connection, but when I surf, it just hangs the progress bar and nothing is appearing in the browser. despite that the connected timer continues...

if you go to phonebook and for example you want to look up a contact starting with W, it will look up a contact starting with 9, click again 9 button and now it shows W but too late, the 9 is already there so no contact will be found. press the return arrow, redo the same, now the 9 will not appear but the W directly if you push the 9 button.

mp3s cannot be played when selecting ringtones, I do not understand why since my p910 does this without any problem.

how to do a multiselect of sms'es to delete them? I have to open each one and then the option to delete them is present!

battery life is 1 day if you are connected to BT in car for 4 hours, called for max 30 mins, played quadrapop for 20 minutes and just used the phone 10 minutes to browse through menus... also disappointing IMHO compared with P910

my memory is jumpin between 3 and 9, if I close for about 300KB of apps according to the taskman, it frees up at least 5 MB!

there are plenty of annoying things like that, I really do not understand SE could release such a piece of buggy crap. I am very disappointed and I think I will switch back to my p910 until the p990 can get updated with some more serious firmware (I cannot upgrade it, it keeps saying I have the latest version while I am on R4 -- my CDA is

CDA162008/55 R1A03
CDA162008/55 R1A03

(it is listed twice, dunno why...?)

Cant say i have that problem either in FO mode or FC mode...press 9 and it always comes up with the letter W.

As Jah said earlier, seems like you have a faulty phone which is unlucky...get it changed for a new one.

@dirkies

some of the problems (eg FC operations and keypad issues) were in the older firmware for the World Generic SIM free P990, so your next frimware should include fixes...
