its hardly another language,

at least with handwriting recog, it doesnt have to learn slang, swearing and abbreviations.
n you dont get 1800 different options when ur only tryin to type the...

you've got two new and highly improved input methods and you want to stick to the old fashioned methods? Just buy a nokia...

The handwriting recognition is cool (if not as good as Palms or even (shudder) Microsoft's). However try writing an SMS with one hand while driving (not that I would ever fo anything illegal like that!) On-screen text entry is not used in the same environments as one-handed key-based text entry.

Multitap text entry is really painful once you've got used to one-handed text entry with T9, and there's no reason why SE cannot add T9 to its text entry list (the OS can handle it). Isn't the P800 meant to be the most flexible of phones, after all?
