It may be at a different run in stage, the batteries get better over several weeks of use.

How does one turn the wifi off, I always have the little indicator on the screen and it allways says that a wifi connection is available indicating that although I'm not connected to a wifi AP it is still on and searching.

Must admit I fail to see why they didn't make the satio a little deeper (a couple of mm) to allow the use of a higher capacity battery, especially on a device with so many functions.

adjust wise screen brightness will hugely help at least survive my day

gharkness1, Press white button, settings, connectivity, wifi-scanning and set it to off. Battery life can also be improved by turning 3g/umts off if it is not being used often. I rarely connect to the net and 3g is really fickle is sa so the phone is constantly scanning for a network. Turning it off greatly improved my battery life.
