There was a bit of news sometime back that a 1350 mAh battery was compatible with the satio.

I agree that the battery capacity is not very impressing, but I believe that there are several things you can do to reduce the power consumption. For example, shorten the timeout before the backlight turns off, turn off the GPS and the WiFi radio if you don't use it for the moment, etc.
It would have been nice to be able to control such things with the profile settings.

There was no 1350mAh battery. Even the BST-40 (which I don't think will fit) isn't that high capacity.

The BST-33 has gone from 920 to 950 to 1000mAh over the years, but the jump to 1350 is far too much.

There have been a few people who've purchased 1200 mAh batteries for their Satios, non-branded of course, but haven't heard any results of them yet as to how good they are performing. TBH I think if I had a 1200 (if they perform) given my personal usage of the Satio I'd still be charging my Satio up every night still (and by at least 8 pm ).

Rumours were banging around about SE staff having 1300 mAh with theirs ... but to be honest I've seen no pictures / proof that would quench my doubts.

Also it did seem that a few Satios were going out with 900 mAh batteries, again not seen but it has been posted by some Vodafone Satio users. For me ... I've got a bog standard 1000 mAh.

Hey Milan. Yes in SA you should get the 1000Mah - LiPo battery. And I know that Vodafone brands them in the UK so the chances are good that we'll get that in SA too I'm also considering the Satio but I'm waiting to see if the phone becomes more stable after the first Update, otherwise the Hero will be mine

Yea im also waiting for the new software...The Satio is awesome phone and the lagging is software related so it can always get sorted out..there is not many hardware issues(lack of internal memory) so its fyn...they can also impove battery life through the software like they did with the K850...new software is imminent...it seems its in testing. I belive the software issues were due to sony rushing the phone and their lack of experience dealing with s60 v5 OS...I belive the sony will make this phone the way it supposed to be...jus have patience

I think that's unfair. In february at the presentation of Satio, SE man said that battery will be 1350mah, now they r selling it with 1000. Another promises from SE that grows our hearts.

SE never stated as such that they will offer 1350. It was only until recently at the event where 1 SE rep did not know that it is suppose to be 1000, not 1350. It is true however that there exists 1350 BST-33 battery, however, it never made it into production. It had always been a testing product. Don't even mention outside source, but even inside source the battery is scarce. So if it was me, i wouldn't blame SE for something they never promised...

OK. However on Polish site of SE before Satio was pulled on market in phone specification was wrote something about battery size 1350 mah without given times of stanby and talk time.

In fact, I am interested in buying the aftermarket one too. The only thing I am worried is that the battery will burn the mother board of my new Satio. So I am still kind of reluctant to buy it until now.

I bought a brand new genuine BST33 1000mHa, this battery last quite twice the
battery bundled with my satio.

how this is possible?

with the satio battery I finish a day without problem using email, internet and phone call,
with the new BST33 battery with the same usage, it last two days
how this is possible?
