@JN,

I have heard that using (writing) SMS drains a battery even more than (not very long) calls. Maybe it's true, because when you are writing SMS, the screen of a mobile phone needs power for back-lighting. If you write long SMS, lots of SMS's or just think "too much" while writing, the active screen wastes the power of battery. But when you are calling, the back-light goes off after few seconds.

I have also experienced that after I have sent lots of SMS's, the battery doesn't last so long than usually. (By lots of I mean ca 10 SMS.)

I suggest you to try to achieve the maximum standby time of your phone (battery) in this way: use your phone mainly for calls (ca 15-30 minutes)and only for 1 or 2 sms, perhaps also some minutes for GPRS. Sure, you also must have a good GSM-coverage.

But of course, if you will receive lots of important calls, you can't make this experiment

@aivan - Yeah makes sense about the SMS dude . . . unfortunately, I don't call that much . .. as there's NO one to call to . . . maybe we can chat here some day pal SMS is OK, as I do this most of the time when I want to know the items on sale (website) . . . and GPRS, YES, here at Esato . . . Just a fresh note: yesterday my T68i switched off after 222 hours of standby time. It is 9 days and 6 hours. During that time I had calls for 25 minutes, gprs for 6 minutes and 1 sms.

But as I have said before, this is not its "personal best" - the record time is 278 hours [11 days and 14 hours]

It is really hard to believe it. I have experienced such a short standby time only for a few times. Then I used gprs for 1-2 hours, had calls for 30-50 minutes, sent many sms, played some games etc. Also I get only 4-6 days standby time, when I am abroad (using roaming).

Do you live in well gsm-covered area? Do you have to use roaming a lot? Where do you hold your phone? My phone usually stands in a nice mobile cup

@aivar - Well I always 'hold' it in my left ear with my left hand - simultaneously ! I guess Boba is quite right with his past post . . . re: the battery that I just bought - black/bst-14 . . . the battery was stucked in the shop for 3 years, until I manage to buy it! That was my query then, if buying a 'stocked' for long battery has any effect with it's performance . . . after? Looks like it does ! [addsig]

@JN

I mean, where do you hold (keep) your phone when you are not using it? Is it in the table or deep in your pocket etc? Do you have mainly good GSM-signal?

@BobaFett

No, I don't rewrite the software. I have the latest one R8A when it came out.
