But BobaFett,

I'm still curious, what do you mean by "fully drain the battery"? How it is possible to do?

I know that many years ago mobile phones had such a feature - when capacity of battery dropped very low the phone automatically started to discharge it.

That is what I am doing all the time

I guess you missed some parts of my posts. But I can quote myself:
"Before I start charging my phone's battery I nearly always let it run so empty that the phone switches off. Let say, in 96-98% of cases."

@aivar - Yeah as I am seeing reports back then that it's good for the fone to go totally drained prior to charging, but some says it's BAD for the handset . . . in my case (T68i) . . . when I see the battery in yellow color status I am about to charge it, will not wait for it to go RED. I will try this 8.5 days (stand-by time) with less calls and SMS . . . I am quite curious if the fone will really last this long

After you have done some "totally drained battery before charging" cycles, please tell us, how long standby time your T68i could achieve before it switched off. How much did you use your phone during this time? How many calls, sms, gprs? Did you play any games, did you use calendar, record some voice memos etc?

I can't resist to mention (OT) the A2628s I had; with the 1400mah battery inside the phone could reach *two weeks* on standby. It was almost rediculous how long this beast went. Never seen anything like it.

weird, why t68 didnt deserved a more powerful batt, compared to bus11 600 mah batt for t28 etc, 700 was a bit weak, for a colour screen fone...

yeh i have one of them i just broke the battery though - little wire snapped off the unit, haven't bothered to try and fix yet though....but yes, i left the battery in the phone for over 2-3years (switched off ofcourse - and the battery was basically almost fully charged still.

I will TRY to see if my T68i will really last for a week or so . . . I won't be using any calls . . . just pure SMS (about 3 a day) . . . but I really doubt if the batt will LAST that long 4 days at the most I guess . . . [addsig]

@JN,

I have heard that using (writing) SMS drains a battery even more than (not very long) calls. Maybe it's true, because when you are writing SMS, the screen of a mobile phone needs power for back-lighting. If you write long SMS, lots of SMS's or just think "too much" while writing, the active screen wastes the power of battery. But when you are calling, the back-light goes off after few seconds.

I have also experienced that after I have sent lots of SMS's, the battery doesn't last so long than usually. (By lots of I mean ca 10 SMS.)

I suggest you to try to achieve the maximum standby time of your phone (battery) in this way: use your phone mainly for calls (ca 15-30 minutes)and only for 1 or 2 sms, perhaps also some minutes for GPRS. Sure, you also must have a good GSM-coverage.

But of course, if you will receive lots of important calls, you can't make this experiment
