This is just a little note to say that my T68i (with original battery) is exactly 4 years old now. But the battery is still mighty and works like a new. The average standby time is still 8,5 days like it has been during those years.
Superb cooperation between the phone and the battery

I know that lithium polymer/ion batteries should not have so called memory effect - but before I start charging my phone's battery I nearly always let it run so empty that the phone switches off. Seems that my battery likes to be used in this way

Perhaps I have a chance to wake up this post also after another year, on 31 May 2007

BobaFett, you are right.

During those 8,5 days I usually make/receive calls for 15-30 minutes, sometimes I also use GPRS for a few minutes and send one or two sms. But a couple of times I have experienced also the situation, when I make/receive calls for 45-60 minutes and the standby time is still more than 8 days!

And yes, the reception is usually very good here in Estonia (it's almost impossible to find "no network" area). When I am abroad, the standby time drops to 5-6 days.

But I remember my T18i - despite the fact that I talked not much, the power of battery turned bad after 1,5-2 years. It would be really interesting to know, when the battery of my T68i "gets old".

@aivar - That's really a remarkable performance for a battery Usually it will only take 2 years (3 at the most) for original batts to last (lifespan). Just want to ask you how do you charge the battery on your T68i dude?, do you full drain it first before charging or do you charge it as you please I just acquired a T68i and have both the white and black (rubberized) original batts . . . I hope this will last for years too [addsig]

To JN,
As I said I like the good old method So, before I start charging my phone's battery I nearly always let it run so empty that the phone switches off. Only seldom I have needed to start charging it a bit sooner - but in that case the remaining standby time has been only from zero to some hours and once ca 50 hours.

What do you mean by discharging?

As I understand this must mean that the battery should be used until it has so little energy that the phone switches off.

As I said, I do it nearly always. Let say, in 96-98% of cases

@aivar - Yeah as I am seeing reports back then that it's good for the fone to go totally drained prior to charging, but some says it's BAD for the handset . . . in my case (T68i) . . . when I see the battery in yellow color status I am about to charge it, will not wait for it to go RED. I will try this 8.5 days (stand-by time) with less calls and SMS . . . I am quite curious if the fone will really last this long [addsig]

Indeed, lets say every second month, but imo at aivars case its not a good solution, cos he used another way, no need to change it

But BobaFett,

I'm still curious, what you mean by "fully drain the battery". How is it possible to do?

I know that many years ago mobile phones had such a feature - when capacity of battery dropped very low the phone automatically started to discharge it.
