GPRS access from PC using T230

Hi,

I am new to this forum and I am not sure if this is the right place for this post or whether this is already covered in any of the other threads.

My problem is as follows:

I use a SE T230 with GPRS access enabled by the provider (Airtel)

I am able to connect my T230 to the PC using Float Mobile Agent software. However, when I attempt to connect to Internet from my PC using the T230, I have the following problems:

1. My PC can communicate with the phone only if Float Mobile Agent is running.
2. When I attempt to dial out (number: *99***2#) I get the dialing and call processing sound from the speaker but nothing happens thereafter.
3. The funny bit is that even if I remove my phone from the other end of the cable, but leave Float running, I STILL get the dialing sound.

Am I missing something here?

Hi sharat! Welcome to esato! I too used to have a t230 and to my knowledge, you cannot use that phone as a gprs modem...there are some threads here related to this subject here...let me search for them! Btw, there's an active indian community here. Do check out the SE india thread! Thanks!

Hi pal,m a new user(airtel). Wats DRS 11 cable for T230? Can T230 be connected to pc? Does it hav an inbuilt modem for internet on pc via T230?!!

Download t200 modem driver and use it.u will be able to use ur t230 as a gprs modem

@aet been there done that. It didnt work for me. Hope you figure it out. For the driver a google search would help. I was never able 2 get the driver for xp. Please post the outcome. It will be a pointer/help 4 others.

Go to the SE site ..and go to support page of T200 ..in the Drivers section you will find the zip file

Don't wan2 waste money on something i'm not sure of .
