There was a thread recently about problems with SSL encryption on the K700i - basically it doesn't seem to work. I can't access my Yahoo mail with SSL on, it won't connect to the server, but works fine with it switched off. Something to do with losing part of the server name. Don't know if it's relevant to you, but check it out anyway:

Hmmm.... Enter it again, may be you have just entered it and not enabled it.

Did you check the thread I linked you to? The consensus there seemed to be that no-one had managed to get SSL working on K700! Looks like a firmware bug.

Did you also notice that no watter what you do, the last letter in outgoing encryption domain is swallowed? ;-)

This is the bug I've been trying to point out. You also can't download new mails from your incoming server with SSL enabled. It doesn't work.

Yeah, that gets truncated, hence the last letter goes. So you definitely cant send from phone thru gmail. Recieving, i did get recieving mails, but then it hangs. :-(

Same here, the only time it doesn't hang during this process is if you don't actually have any new mails! Handy, huh?

There is no wapsite for gmail however if you go to www.gmailwireless.com and there register your gmail account then you can access it on wap at wap.gmailwireless.com , this is however not a service by gmail tho.

I make it works on my K700i, but i can only receive. It works fine when i configured the TLS/SSL domain as pop or smtp address. Before it SSL handshake failure occurs.
Does anybody successfully sent mail through gmail smtp?
