according to the latest post on pocketpcthought those pictures from deuxani are of the MPx300... I will try to find some more info

Posted by axxxr
masseur those pics from deuxani look very much like a concept phone!..but i may be wrong!!

Posted by masseur
yeah, I agree the actual pics do look like concept pics but if the phone does anything like that then its gonna be pretty good.

On the first pic you posted you can see a bit of the keyboard and it does look like the ones in those other pics

Also looking at the left hand edge of the pic you posted it does look like it could be hinged that way too

interesting device anyway...

Posted by axxxr
We will just have to wait and see!!

Posted by fannypad
The images deuxani posted are probably of a prototype of the MPx300, as can be seen by the different style keys.

This looks like a fantastic device, what with the landscape/portrait dual hinge and Pocket PC OS.

Edit: The MPx100 is due at the same time as the MPx220, it's a candybar version of the latter.

mobil.cz has more info and many high-res pics.

Here's something more about the device featured in the very first post.

It has two hinges... opens ala clamshell and also ala communicator with qwerty thumbpad. I suppose it is smaller than the communicator. It will have a touch screen and also a camera as well as several connectivity options.
Of course its Pocket PC... some may like 'em but I know some will be turned off by this.

Here's a pic when the filp is opened (from a poster in the ongoing Cannes GSM conference)

DeuXanI's Picture May be of a concept phone but the way that phone opens and the key lay-out are very similar.. if you guys notice on the pictures of the Mpx-300 that you posted, the phone works on a double hinge system alowing it to flip open two ways.

Posted by Satsuma
We now know that the MPX100 will have a 1.3MP camera and appear in the 2nd half of this year.

I find it strange that Moto have made no mention of MPX220.

I wonder if this will be launched a lot sooner than the MPX and MPX100 devices and sport only a VGA camera?

these and more pics of this at PPCW.Net

...and still more from pocketpcitalia.com and I have to say this is really growing on me

Posted by jomni1
Impressive pictures. But one thought troubles me. Looking at the pictures, how will you be using the MPx as a phone? Well a closed flip would be alright. But you can't dial that way. When you open the flip and use it as a phone... that would be one HUGE clamshell!!! The length is double that of a PDA/Phone like the XDA2.

Posted by axxxr
Damm thats Cool as F**K!!!

Here's another pic!!

Posted by Flying Finn
The features are very impressive and the construction is pretty clever (too big for a clamshell though maybe) but the keyboard looks like a nightmare.

Posted by DinOne
... and Wi-Fi, very large battery (1.8 Ah), multi function external buttons (you don't need to open the clamshell to talk), all the software you can imagine, like OCR for "reading" through camera any pen-written text or business card, audio/video camera, playing five (five) full featured movies using the panoramic screen from an up-to 4 Giga memory card, ...

Anyone got how much it weighs. Grams.. and dimensions ??

Posted by Mohammed98221
Its dimensions are 96*60*22mm and it weighs 135g.

Posted by lmi
Wow... I'm impressed!
I was going to buy P900 next week but now I'm not sure anymore... Should I wait for this one or not? It has everything and even more. And supports SD and MMC, which means: no more memory sticks by sony

Posted by jomni1
You just have to be ready for the quirks of using a windows PDA.
Windows is power-hungry, it drains your battery faster than regular mobile phones and Palms. If this doesn't bother you at all then go for it. I'm using a Pocket PC phone right now and think it's more useful than my P800 (this is a personal preference though, some might think otherwise).

Posted by Lestat1974
I think the new Motorola looks nice and it has a lot of features that I could use - but I would not wait until the Motorola mpx gets on the market. The P900 is a brilliant pda/phone which has a very intuitive userinterface and lots ofpossibilities - and it's on the market now....

Posted by d_a_r_k_n_e_z_z
now that's a phone (MPx pda phone) that can brought up against the nokia 9500 and not the p900 ever. the MPx definitely caught my eye and definitely the pda+phone+more for me.

Motorola just released more information on the MPx handheld at the CeBIT tradeshow, though some facts are still unknown.

The MPx is going to be 2.4 inches wide by 3.9 inches long, and roughly .95 inches thick (61.2 x 99.7 x 24 mm). It will weigh 6.15 ounces (174 g).

It will take run Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition's ability to switch on the fly between portrait and landscape modes, thanks to the dual hinges. The MPx's screen is will be 2.8 inches, with resolution of 240 by 320 pixels

The MPx will operate on GSM/GPRS wireless networks for voice and data and feature both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It will support 900/1800/1900 MHz. This may be bad news for the US market since many subscribers depend on 850 MHz for good connections.

The battery on the MPx is expected to last 180 minutes of talk time or 140 hours of stand-by time. Information about the processor and amount of RAM is still unknown. Information about the processor and amount of RAM is still unknown.

The price is expected to be about $930 U.S. and will cost 749 euros.

The MPx expected to hit the market sometime around the June of this year.

I went to Cebit today and obviously went to the Motorola booth and I was highly disapointed with the fact that the people working there didn´t have permission to turn on the phones till Wednesday when Motorola and Microsoft have agreed on to announce about the OS running on the phone and showcase it. Really pissed me off as this is one of the phones that made me want to go to Cebit but i had no idea about the compromise they had reached untill i was told about it.
On another note I did have a look at the Mpx100, A1000, E680, V400P and A687. All very good phones, especially the E680. I didn´t see the newly announced A840...now I can say that motorola will hit it big with that phone and put that qualcomm (???)GSM/CDMA phone that lacks in features on the GSM side.

Some slightly disappointing news about the Motorola MPx, the upcoming super-phone with the nifty two-way flip. We already had heard the MPx will be using the Texas Instruments OMAP CPU (200 MHz), but will have a relatively scant 32MB of RAM, along with 64MB of flash ROM. But as was pointed out by PocketPCThoughts forum poster JonnoB, "It is important to note that the memory configuration is unlike any other PPC to-date. The 32MB RAM and 64MB of storage area is fixed and does not use a sliding scale of RAM for storage/program memory. This is in effect, like a device with 96MB of shared program/storage memory."
