V600 vs T610 vs z600

Hello, i used to be a t610 owner but then by cirumstances, it got taken back and was replace by a Samsung v200. Whilst this phone has a nice camera, i lik (i) The Downloadable games and (ii) the better customisability (themes, etc). So i can take it back (14 day thing), but i have noticed that i can get a Motorola v600 free which has, amongst other things Java MIDP 2.0 support and VIdeo Recorder. Is there any chance that the z600 has midp 2 support, or is that like the t610 as well. The video thing is just a useful little add on, not essential but i would like GOOD java support, not the goddamn awful one t610 has. Basically, are there any major advantages to the t610 or z600, compared to the v600, as im a little vague on the specs, and they don't generally say all anyway. Are there any places where i could see a comparison of the 3? P.S. Any SE fanboys try not to answer in a fanboyish way, as it won't really help matters.

Cos u can get the V600 for nothing u should go for it btw its a neat phone had mine for 3wks now!

I know it doesn't have IR, which is annoying but does it come with a data cable? I don't hav bluetooth, but IR i do have. if not, would the one i got with the v200 work with it?

For what it's worth, i think the z600 is the best looking and most balanced clam shell phone i've seen.

This message was posted from a Z600

ha ha ha you think z600 has style ha ha ha ha z600 looks as though its been made by blind african orphans! butt ugly good spec but awful design

V600 offers the best compromise although i little chunky it looks good and works well even when you take the ariel off. Bluetooth is well verstile send stuff betwen my p900 and pc well easy supports mp3 ringtones aswell screens awsome the function light is sooooo cool only gripes the phones lil too thick t9 is crap (iTap what ever they call it worse then samsung!) and music stays on in games even when in silent!

still beats t610 because

better screen
newer
not already owned by shit load of people
camera is good
supports mp3s
more verstile

beats z600 because

looks crap
silly design
smaller
better external screen

V600 is a mini p900 cant argue with that now can we. What a compliment

Ooh anotha v600 user lol how do u send piccys from it via bt? Im avin a struggle :-( bad thing bout that phone for me is the batt n chargetime thats crap :-D

Posted by brandonrawks
Hey, Miss! I'm a V600 guy now too (in addition to all my other toys!) Anyway, sending pics via bluetooth is easy, but not all that intuitive. Select a pic, hit menu, and select Copy. I know, it sounds strange, but that's how it works. it will then power up bt (if it's not already) and search for a device. Simple as that!

Have fun!

yeah thats thew way silly motorola really put little thought in to it also i use mine with the ariel taken off the phone still has near enough same reception. i think the supplied bt headset is reall shit design and build quality is sooooo crap. you guys found any covers for it yet?

Posted by Miss UK
thanks i'll try that! have any of u found any bugs in ur phones? mine is in need of a sw upgrade as got probs with the light stayin on after using alarm and it sometimes freezes up and shuts of! btw try mobilefun for fascias ;- p

Posted by Chaser81
Looked at mobilefun for V600 covers, but when you click on a fascia it says covers available for PRE-ORDER. They dont have them in stock either, no-one does yet.

Posted by MrUK
hellomoto.com got to v600 shop and it claims it has them any one got the front cover off thiers yet? think you need a special tool

Posted by Miss UK

OK one (or two) more things before i say YES.
Are themes for it readily available? Themes for my t610 were as easy to get as pie, and good as well. I like my phones customisable.
And does it support midi as a ringtone format? In my opinion, this is the best and it's great to be able to show them off to my mates.
And Java, anyone tell me what that's like?
Thanks
Marcus

Java is good the games r stable! the tones ive not dwd any yet, and themes aint changed them pretty happy with silver enn.

I have a couple questions about the V600.

1. Is it true that it can only store one number per contact?

2. How is the speed dialing issue solved (I hope its not by reordering the numbers on the SIM)

3. Does it store incoming SMS internally or on the SIM (in which case it is limited to 20)?

4. Can I use an Ericsson HBH60 headset with it?

Thanks,

hey who cares about midi ring tones you can have mp3s!!!! also stop asking use questions f**k off to a phone shop we've told you enough

Maybe i don't wanna go and get a phone if i don't know what it's like? Some of us can't just go down to the local phone shop anytime, btw. School takes quite a while, and i live a long way a way from any phone shops. So try bein a bit friendlier.
Just out of interest, Miss UK and MrUK is there any connection between you, or is it pure coincedence that you two both own the same phone, and have complimentary names? Some of us can't just

Posted by don_vercetti
Wow you guys are funny! Anyway i never said you were the SAME person, perhaps if you had any of the stuff they give you in school (intelligence, common sense etc) you may notice i merely suggested that you two are linked, like say you KNOW each other! people on this forum...

Posted by Miss UK
No we're not linked! So lets get back to the proper topic ok? :-)

Posted by barn.door
Miss Uk, i've got a T68i,
thinking of getting a V600,
overall are they OK?
Any gripes?
Whats good about it?

Posted by Miss UK
V600 is a really good handset it offers alot are u aware of what the features are? If not checkout www.motorola.com my only doubt in the phone is the battery which doesn't handle my free wap very well and charging time which is awful! Appart from that a very smart phone :-)

Posted by barn.door
Thanks Miss UK,
Agreed, does any phone battery cope well with 65K screens, cameras and all the other bits 'n bobs (except P900?)
Think I might get a docking cradle,
Know of any on-line V600 reviews?

Posted by Miss UK
Maybe the 6600 handles all that well btw its battery is a really fast enn at charging! haven't seen any reviews for the V600 as of yet run a search on google... do u think a docking cradle wud be a improvement at charging ? :-p

Posted by barn.door
Searching Google was the first thing i did, found the best UK deal @-
http://www.onestopphoneshop.c[....]&PROV=OR&MP=FRAME^GIN203&CNO=1
yeah?

Found a preview @-
http://www.mobiledia.com/previews/motorola/v600/index.html

Looked @ the 6600, its got all the right bits, but its not cheap, and it looks.......?
Docking cradle is cool because u can just drop the phone in as you come thru the door, I assume it charges just as quick as the standard? but the cradle is just easier? and it looks cool.......
Used mobilefun.com before, found OK,
Tried a dummy V600 at "The Link" last week, keys felt good and easy to press, how many times have you pressed the wrong key?
My V600 coming free from above mid-week, I hope, with a free Moto HS800 BT headset, handy for the car these days, don't fancy a fine, although you always see someone doing it each day, a guy in a be-em today, but thinking about it, they are usually driving a BMW!
Will post my thoughts when i get it,
onestopphoneshop.co.uk say they are waiting for a delivery.

I decided to get a t610 in the end (on account of them being £40 on contract, it turns out) and tbh im quite happy with it. It's a lovely little phone, and with support being so widespread + my familiarity with previous SE phones (t300), i'm happy i did.

Posted by barn.door
Looked at a T610, it just lost out to a V600,
My SE T68i has been good, agree about support,
but T610 has been out about 6months now and V600 looks better and has a bigger screen, plus i'm getting the BT headset free with V600!

Posted by Miss UK
Hey congratulations! Welcome to the Moto club lol about the standard charger it takes 4hrs to charge the phone quite crap really will have to get info about that cradle via moto hope it takes 2hrs max :-) ive only pressed the wrong key via writing txt msgs the space key is the * button instead of no.1 u get used to it ;-) @ don. Didn't u look for a free T610 :-l they have them now on contract for zilch!

Posted by 50Cent
yeah i've seen quite a few contract with the T610 for free!! Probably due to the release of the T630
