Hi,I am newby and need a little help. Can anybody advise if there is any flash software for Mobile phones so that if a person calls your mobile and withholds there number, you can revel the number they are calling from. I'm getting funny phone calls at differents times of the day and night, I've contacted my mobile phone line provider and they can see the 'number of the withheld caller' but they can't give me the number because of the data protection act. can anybody help. I am based in England

Can't you complain to the police? The service provider will definitely reveal it to the police

Yes your right, the police won't tell me the number. That's the point I don't won't to involve the police. i want the ellment of surpise.

doesn't matter which software you use... you can't see the number anyway.. the number is never sent to your mobile, before the call is forwarded to your phone the number is removed by the switches in the GSM network

Block the number then .... I know that in belgium it's possible I did it once, I received lots of SMS from a woman who whas looking for one of her friend. After many many many messages replying that I didn't was her friend I finally decided to call my provider to block that number. Now I cant receive calls or messages from that crazy women

I don't want to block the number, I want to find who's making the calls.

Has anybody used this code to reveal a withheld number

*#30# Lets you see the private number

The above is a nokia code.

How do you use it and how does it work

Sounds like you wanna find out who keeps ringing(without police involvement)so you can knock his lights out! Go on lad! ;-) Hope you find a sollution.

this number is hide number you or your provider cant do anything about that , this is a just one stupid function !!!!! you can change the number only , cheers !

So whats this *#30# activate? I just tried to test it on my t610 and a msg came up saying 'service activated',i need to know what ive done now as i dont usually mess around with codes :-l

*#30# switchss on CLI (callers number sending)

#30# in front of the number you call will withhold your number.

@Boyi, no worries what you did wont affect your phone, just check your number is still being sent. it should still be, these GSM codes do less now than they used to.

@pachy,What is caller number sending? U mean like show ur number? Can this be deactivated?

Posted by Jim
There is an option on the phone that withhold your number before making a call and you can ask your operator too for that

@boyi, Like the man says the "Hide my number" feature is on P800/P900 but is for each individual call, in UK most networks will turn your phone to permanently not send your number, if you ask them, but if you have an extra entry for each number in phone book with #30# prefix, it will not send the number. but i think you need the normal numbers left in there so you can send sms from phonebook.

In the ISUP (the signalling protocol between the MSCs) there is a flag for sing that the calling number is hidden or not. But in BSSAP (the protocol between MSC and BSC) the number is phisically removing. There is on way to get the number over the air.

There are computer marketing companys that automatically(withheld number) dial 100 people at a time, but if ye answer 2 quickly there will be no one on the other end, seen it on watchdog...

Posted by agnesx
haha

prolly someone stalking you

i see a few solutions if you want to stop this, wont help you identify it but

just pick up and leave your phone there, they are paying for the call
or turn your phone on silent and let them ring until they get bored

but i highly doubt you can find out who they are from any legal means...

good luck and i would simply block the number if i were you... if its someone you know and important.. they will end the joke when they realise can't contact you no more

cheers

Where do you get a listing of all such codes for a given manufacturer or given phone?

Posted by panlek
IMPORTANT: If you have a se phone there is an option at the menu that it lets you activate another option that any phone number which isn't at the tel.catalogue can't call you. The gsm provider doesn't know it. The phone does all the job. e.g. If i called you before i hear one beep, the phone will automatically divert the call at the voice mail! Cheers m8!

@djchapple

You can find a whole list of international GSM codes here

@Risky
Did that CLIP code helped you to find that number?

is there a way to block just one number? I want to block 1 # or block all withhelds, but, accepts the other calls. thx!

hi. i am in australia. when i want to block my number, i just put 1831 before the number when i dial. works on both my mobile and home phone.
none of this #30# crap

just 1831

but as everyone has told you. there is no way of finding out the number. if you are annoyed by it, ring your provider and ask them to put a ban on it. since they know the number, this is posible.
just block it and forget about it.

Posted by panlek
@xwaiz: if u have a se phone go and read my message ì've written. I think it's 1-3 messages before yours. Cheers!

Posted by xwaiz
Hi panlek,

Your method is to accept calls from some #, and reject the rest. However, I want to reject calls from some #, and accept the rest.

Anyone has idea? Or can SE add this feature in future?

thx!

y.

No the clip only say's 'Number is stored' god knows where though.

Posted by anish
@risky
In my case it comes with accessing network and then a messge unknown application. If it says number stored in your case ask one of your friends to call you with their number withheld and see whether its working and let us know.

Posted by fabrizio
I think that number stored message means nothing considering that the carrier is not passing the number along to you.

If you have an idea of the person that might be calling you, then call them from a different phone while they are calling you. If you hear a clicking sound on the phone you are being called to, there is a good chance they are the same number. If you don't hear the clicking sound, but the other person picks up, probably not the right person...

If this gets to be serious involve local police, or ask your carrier to do so.

I have tried that, that is what I have doing trying the codes with friends phone, me ringing them etc, different phones (nokia) and nothing seems to work, I've got a private investigstor on the case now, hopefully they will succeed why I have failed.

Posted by Rob111
Bit late now, but for future info, the answer to the original problem might have been to try call25.co.uk - can reveal any number.

For anyone who wants to block certain numbers, block withheld numbers, etc, but accept all others, check out an app called Advanced Call Manager.

I registered my copy, as it does the job.

Posted by Rob111
Do you know if that would work for text messages? I could do with something that rejected text messages from a certain number, so that I never get the text and if the sender puts a delivery receipt on it also shows to them as undelivered (grief from ex girlfriend, but don't want to change my number!)

Does Advanced Call Manager work with SE C902 ?
