@all....for those who r inquiring re: globe gprs rate...

starting oct. 27, 2002...browsing using gprs will be charged p0.50 per kilobyte as per their txt message.

Posted by mari
Called globe and they said that conecting to the net thru pdas and mobiles as modems ovr gprs wil b chargd 50c per kb. Holds true 4 email clients as well. Howevr, wapping's stil free til further notice.

Ang mahal nyan... nag text na rin sila... baka bihira na lang ako dito... tsk tsk tsk.

hi...

kanina i was using the phone as a modem, browsing using the gprs pero suddenly, parang naputol yung connection.

so naturally i have to dial-up again, pero to my surprise nakasulat sa status: GPRS: NO ACCESS, tapos yung gprs signal niya, walang laman... i am postpaid btw.

has anyone experienced this? helf...

ito na ba yung simula ng kawalan? may bayad na ba talaga???

e ano na po??

Posted by 619
either...

apn: www.globe.com.ph
ip : 192.40.100.7

or
apn: internet.globe.com.ph
ip : 203.127.225.10

or any of the above combination.

Posted by dok_knight2006
i think it goes this way...

you have to make two data accounts... HINDI two profiles of wap ha...

isa para doon sa wap browsing: you have to use the apn: www.globe.com.ph

then ung isa para sa internet browsing (as modem, pda) using the apn: internet.globe.com.ph

attach mo sa profile ng wap yung may apn na "www"
pag mag connect ka naman as modem, use the cid number of the account with the apn of "internet"

that is my observation...
i still use the old ip, anyway that ip is just used for wap homepage ata...

Hello all,

When it comes to wireless, filipinos are the best i think. Anyway, I have some questions regarding my T68m (not upgraded), my brand new IPAQ 3870, and my GLOBE PREPAID account. Yes...im in prepaid.

How did i got gprs? Before there was no blue toolbar which indicates a GPRS signal on my T68. It seems Globe is blocking access to its GPRS network for PREPAID accounts. I followed a friends advice, to put a POSTPAID account on my T68. After i switched sim cards, my phone got GPRS activated. So i could do wap surfing using APN: www.globe.com.ph and IP:192.29.102.103.

I bonded my IPAQ 3870 and configured my DUN without a dial string command ( cgdont=1,"IP","www.globe.com.ph" or "internet.globe.com.ph"). Phone number is *99***N# where N is my CID on T68. Here are the results:

1. I could do MSN. Im not sure if MSN connects to port 80.
2. I could not surf. No http protocol. Does it mean, http protocol is blocked? Maybe because im in prepaid... but y do i have MSN.?
3. I could send email. SMTP should be 21, 22 or 25. I forgot the specific port. However I could not receive any emails.

Errrr have to go back to work. I would post again. Thank you all for reading my post.

Best Regards,

Rupert

Globe APN is limited to WAP surfing. You probably hit the MSN WAPsite so you had access on your iPAQ. I believe there's no internet access for prepaid users who use their phone as a modem.

*first u must activate your GPRS ( go to the nearest Globe customer service just tell them you want to activate it [prepaid or postpaid]).

*create an email account at www.softhome.net it will take around 5 mins only.
( eg login name = wonderwoman )
( eg password = darna )

Setting up your phone :

1. create a new data account
a.[CONNECT]->[DATA COMM]->[DATA ACCOUNT]->[ADD ACCOUNT?]
b.Choose [GPRS Data]
c.type in the name of the new acct ( eg. globe gprs )
d.type in APN ( www.globe.com.ph )
e.save it

2. setup your email client
a.[MESSAGES]->[E-MAIL]->[OPTIONS]->[EDIT ACCOUNT]->[ADD NEW?]
b.type in account name ( eg. MyEmail )
c.Go to [CONNECT USING] then choose the one your created before 1.c. ( globe gprs )
d.Go to [Inc. server] type in mail.softhome.net
e.Go to [Mailbox] type in your login email ( eg wonderwoman )
f.Go to [Password] type in your password ( eg darna )
g.Go to [Outgoing server] type in mail.softhome.net or smtp.globenet.com.ph ( if you want to be deducted 1peso every outgoing mail )
h.Go to [E-mail address] type in ( eg. wonderwoman@softhome.net )
i.Go to [From Name] type in ( of course your name dear )

3.[MESSAGES]->[E-mail]->[OPTIONs]->[SET ACCOUNT]
a.Choose acct name in 2.b. ( eg. MyEmail )

4. By now you can send and receive email on the fly Try it.

GO SMB!

what about the email settings for the 7650? And btw, is mms on GLOBE available for postpaid subscribers only?

Posted by lazzy
Has anyone tested MMS with T68i and prepaid? My GPRS is working and WAP over GPRS is working too ...

But i can't seem to get my MMS working, is it because i'm on prepaid? I followed the instructions given on https://www.myglobe.com.ph/myglobe/mms/inner1.asp#26 but it gives me the error "GPRS failed" , "GPRS parameters not supported" and "Network Communication failed ...."

Anyone can help?

Posted by Dagger
As of December 2002, Globe MMS can now be accessed by Globe Prepaid subscribers, now if we could only get these CSRs some gray matter between their ears.

Posted by enjin_tiu
sem-y use gsm when u can acces it tru gprs 4 free. btw, are u a co-employee?

Posted by jcpsad
@semi do you use it as a modem or just wapping? if its just wap try sending thise send to 2951... without the brackets

Posted by jomni1
Is it ture that you can only send MMS messages to the same phone only? e.g. T68i to T68i, N7210 to N7210, N7650 to N7650

Posted by XsuwailX
teka nga lng mga kapatid, hanggang kelan po ba free access sa gprs ng globe?

Posted by superman17
@jom...nope! as logn as mms capable yung phone mo and activated yung service.....you can receive mms.
@x....i think till may globe xtm kasi one peso per send sya and thru gprs di ba? pero may humor an aalisin na globe xtm eh.....ambot lang este ewan lang pala.

Posted by jomni1
@superman

Activated na ako and I can send but my girlfirend's 7210 cannot recieve.
And when i send to her, she cannot recieve also.

We can send but not recieve.
We used globe's settings.

Posted by jomni1
Called globequest and got it to work already.

My girlfriend recieves the mms already.
I also get the mms she sent but my phone cannot read the picture. Only an "X" apprears. Globequest tells me its related to the difference in the screen resolutions. Lugi yata ako since the t68i has lower resolution.

Do you experience the same problems?

This post was posted from a T68i

tsismis is this year daw sila magchahcarge, but i think once they start charging, patay na ang gprs sa pinas since smart charges na rin. la ng mag-susurf thru gprs for leisure. imagine, if you download a background you get billed for P4.00!

hi there pips! Can anybody help me about this MMS, i am a globe subscriber under prepaid account and already called the CSR to activate my MMS and was activated a day after. I can receive MMS, honestly i have 3 in my folder now but the problem is i can t download it, why? Anybody?
Thanks in advance!
I am leaving my cell number in case anyone is interested to help me ... 9172099973 ... art here.

Same experience here.
Try calling globequest @ 730-1357. They're better than Globe Customer Service. They will help you in manually check the settings one by one. After the call mine already works.

BTW... I cannot receive images from phones with higher resolutions sometimes because the t68i screen is only 256 colors. Don't know if anybody else experiences that.

Posted by dickie7
you know what guys, nababaliw na talaga ako of what i am going to do with these MMS!!! I called Globe CSR already and sabi nila activated na daw ang MMS ko, then i was about to send MMS, too bad, "GPRS parameters not supported". anyone could help me?

I am posting my number in case you are willing to help me.. thanks in advance!

waaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! This is horrible! 6 MMS i received all at once but i was directed to go to myglobe just to retrieve na message! Anyone pls help .... 09172099973

Ako i w8ed 1day para maactiv8 gprs ko kng d ko p knulit ang globe! :-( prepaid kc ako d waaah wla 2loy mms

Posted by senninha
If you receive a message that you have to go to myglobe to retrieve your mms message, then your activation hasn't taken effect yet.

Don't know about you guys, but for all the phones I've activated, the 'G0 (phone model)' to 2951 always worked perfectly for activating GPRS and MMS. Just remember that after saving the settings, you still have to call Globe CS for MMS activation.

As far as receiving messages from other phones with my T68, never had a problem, even with a pic taken from a 7650. I've even stored hi res pictures on my phone and have been able to view them, of course at 256 colors nalang.

Posted by dickie7
do you mean that once i installed the new settings for the gprs and mms, i still be needing to call the CSR for the activation of MMS? How about the GPRS, it works anyway right? How long have u waited for the activation of it? Thanks

Posted by masterjericho

@peeps

pls help, i have an mms problem also. i can recieve the mms (tried using mmscontent) by changing the connect using from globemms => globegprs but i cant send mms thru it (chck network connection).
if i change it back again, i cant send/recieve at all - although i have an mms notification, if i download, there is a "gprs not supported" error.

yung officemate ko, ni hinde tumawag sa csr ng globe para sa activation, nokia(6610) gamit nya, pagka save nung settings,
lahat ok na agad.

SOS! I've reset my phone and now I can't connect to wap. Instead I get the message about my data account not being set-up. But with my palm and t68 as modem, there is no problem. HELP PLS.

Posted by paul21
try selecting the profile u r using coz dat msg usually comes up when there are no profiles selectd(accdg 2 xperience)

Posted by senninha
@dickie

yup, once you save the settings, WAP/GPRS works right away. Its just for MMS that you have to call Globe CS.

For the others, I don't know, maybe I'm just lucky but everytime I want to install settings on any phone, I've just used the 'GO xxxx' to 2951 and it has always worked. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the settings to arrive, but it always works once I save it into the phone.

For the person whose mms worked immediately without calling Globe, that was a miracle. I bet that person can walk on water too!

you can't open yahoo mail in T68i you have to pay yahoo first... try hotpop.com

Grabe mahal ng globe gprs

Posted by paul21
Is there a charge already?

Posted by jackfrost
i recently got a bluetooth adapter for my ibook 500, then i tried surfing on the net, after figuring the settings out, my bill came to about 6,000 pesos, i dont know if i used that much kilobytes, because they are charging .50centavos pero kilobyte, so you guys better watch your usage, baka mabigla din kayo,

Posted by 619
jackfrost- we are aware of that, thats why i usually use my prepaid first, just to be safe.

Last year you posted and I quote:

"Posted: 2002-03-16 12:
I'd just like to ask for feedback from fellow Globe users who uses GPRS connections to connect their PCs or laptops.

I find it irritating that my connection suddenly drops out, and though im still connected to the network I can't reach any website.

If I try to browse the net from WAP or my PDA, the connections work but using my laptop it fails.

The problem seems random but only occurs with when I use the laptop.

Posted from a ancient Laptop + T39 + GPRS"

I was just wondering if you can share me the solution to your problem if you have already found the remedy. Thanks.

Gprs works on prepaid cards?

Posted by ian_se_t68i
@paulmaraming salamat sa advice. my phone's working nownow if i can only configure my pc to be able to use globe gprs when surfing the net.YES, some prepaid cards are GPRS enabled, at least for globe.
