I think Arc i brilliant.
I don't know what is the problem with build quality. Camera is great and makes amazing night shots.
I'm only surprised there's no way to turn off automatic screen brightness adjustement.

The
Xperia arc is such a
beautifully made
handset. Yes it is
plasticky but no
creaking in the
chassis. Feels very
solid (& light) in
hand[tweet from XperiaBolg]

Received BLUE gel case for my arc even though i ordered a BLACK one.

The back was flat until applied to the arc and fits quite snug.

EDIT: Just noticed the hole for the secondary mic on the back is a little offset, not sure how that will affect performance.

After I tested the call quality on a noisy street it made little difference for cutting out background noise when I spoke with someone on the phone. They said it was noisy so don't worry about 2nd mic

Posted by Ricke77
I honestly cant understand how you manage to keep it running for 3 days without charging??
What app have you NOT up and running??
And when did you get your phones?? IŽve heard that battery performance does get better after a few charges but I havnŽt noticed that yet after 6 charges.... Please advise!!

Well, it doesn't exactly sound as a mass exodus. There are probably more people leaving other brands for Arc then the other way around I would guess.

Yes I know the call clarity is excellent but my brother said to me on his end that he could still hear loads of background noise from the street Otherwise call quality was fine

It is said that 2.3.2 version can crash the phone, but not 2.3.3. So our version is 2.3.2 therefore it has a high chance of crashing. I'm waiting for version 2.3.3 to arrive and also improvement to the camera quality.

Nope, just performed a update via SUES. Mine is a UK sim free handset if that helps. I seems to have installed the BBC iPlayer as well.

On a different note, you can access fast boot by holding down the menu key and then plugging in the USB cable. The led should then turn blue.

Okay but after update the phone was in a state before the update? That is my question - if we currently perform update on Android we don't have to do any recovery of settings and apps?

What is Fast Boot?

Arc is basically great and I think I will stay with it for a long time.
There are some things which bug me a little bit like inability to turn off this auto light adjustement.
And I have a problem with DocsToGo which is maybe the app problem..

The battery looks OK. There are definitely many things which influence it's usage because Android is such a
busy system. But after the device settles I think it will be as on any other platfrom today - about 24hrs only....

The camera is great really. I mean it's totally enough and it makes great photos in very difficult conditions.

As for the Android:
It's super capable. Yes and it was the reason why I switched from WindowsPhone.
However WindowsPhone is totally different planet regarding smoothness, reponsivness and ease of use.
With Android features it would be a killer.

As for Arc it's a great performer and UI over Android definitely looks better for me than Sense.

@doministry

I was under the impression that you could change the auto setting using the power widget, like you do on the X10.

Is that not correct?

I know what you mean.
But maybe I don't get it or what but looks like NO.

When I press this screen brightness icon on widget I get:
Screen almost black, than maximum, than the brighntess I set in settings.
And on every setting from the widget when I go to menu and set desired screen brightness
I immediately observe the auto thing kicks in.

So do I miss something?

Guys I have the question:

How to make Gmail store emails for offline?
Every time I go there it reloads data and when I'm offline nothing is there.

set your email preference to 'pop' ......

Sh.t!!
Why is that: I set my gmail to POP.
After I disconnect my phone from data, I go to Gmail and see the headers of the emails
but I cannot open any email. I have to connect to get it!!

HOW TO MAKE IT WORK?!

Finally i have a (working) Misty Silver just wanted you to know

edit: some quickies i noticed the first time I miss the BACK button, when i use the phone i landscape (as i mostly do typing texts, i must force my thumb down, was more easier before when it was top right. and i lock/unlock my phone with the powerbutton, now it's to small and you need to much preasure to press it, making it a slower task to just hilight the screen to watch the clock/starting it.

Excellent news mate, how are you finding the experiance. It's sooo smooth.

Arc is mostly like a rocket really.
I love the camera and screen. Almost no flaws.
Fast. Battery got stable.

I still don't know how to set Gmail to store my emails on the device using GMAIL app though.

I set Gmail to POP in settings but still the same - everytime I open Gmail it loads everything again.

Getting mine tomorrow, really excited about it! Hope I wont go down the alley Bonovox went and stay an arcoholic for more than just a week!

If all goes well IŽll take some pictures from vacation in Spain which is actually what I bought it for....

they r the main reason SE has bad reputation in bahrain

they r always late
more expensive than other countries
and worse, they don't bring other colors, they always bring only one color which they like,
and u the one who don't like it, u can go and kill ur self

i want play, i think am gonna order if from expansys, or wait a week or 2 maybe i can got from
KSA, or Dubai...

BOYCOTT FAKHRO...

Well I have great email app called ProfiMail.
The thing is you have to use Gmail to sync calendar and contacts. And Gmail receives my billing emails from Market. So I don't want to make another Gmail on my device in different app.

I have no fckn idea what to do with it.
Makes me nuts.

And I want to know what about this auto light adjustement. I want it off.

Posted by shanespencer
Hi all, I just got my Arc today (love it), I bought it here in China. Thing is, it has no Market app. How do I get it? Do I need to change the firmware? What's the easiest way to do that? Any help would be appreciated - thanks!
