You're not very clever are you?

OK I shall say this again. For those of you who think the camera is crap LOOK again with your eyes. These images on my HD pc monitor look pin sharp the touch focus is great better than the actual camera key. The camera key is small but not too awkward. One review said the back speaker was tinny with no bass. What are they expecting on a thin phone?? A subwoofer?? It has little bass but decent clarity & the ring tones are loud. Regarding the screen pretector. In reviews of the x10 it showed that the hard to peel off one scratched easier than the screen itself. That is why I remove it.

Ah,but I live in England Regarding image quality,it is not the MASSIVE step forward from x10 but at the same time it ain't crap either. Images are sharper than x10 I will say. Also the flash & camera menus are a vast improvement over the x10. It is now a joy to operate. It is also so much faster in operating the camera too. In future updates I think the camera could do with a little fine tuning but overall it's ace. In terms of night time photography well I shall try a shot of my road with street lights tonight rested on a wall. That Old Skool cd I knocked 3 of them off the shelf

How's the battery going??

Posted by Bonovox
So far ok it is hard to tell the battery time when you have only charged it up for half an hour but it is on charge now. The real test will be tomorrow when I shall use it all day after a full charge. But as I have hardly charged it yet since I went out & come home it has not moved yet the meter. Taken with the Arc but I will upload pics of the phone later. My camera is being repaired so need to borrow my brothers

I just found out that the Misty silver is suposed to be 9 weeks exclusive @ www.tre.se(in sweden) talked to them today. BUT i just got a MAIL from www.komplett.se that the SILVER is in stock, but not the blue, and they have sent it and i HOPE i will get it tomorrow friday

Posted by Bonovox
Ooh,I like the Blue now & surprisingly the back cover does not stick finger prints as bad as expected!! Only if you just had your dinner & picked it up with sticky mits I just decided to take out the insurance cos it is rather expensive. Peace of mind for £5.88 per month through Clove insurance. Be back later on chaps going to chill for a bit & also try out HD video & tv HDMI function

Bono, have you tried the HDMI connection? Angry birds on tv eh..

Cannot say this more but the screen is just stunning and it is so responsive. Browsing on the net is so good on the Arc. My brother just called ne and compared to x10 speaker volume the Arc is super clear and loud. Love it

@Killmaster9, haha, yeah we will have to see i was "feeling" both of the colors in the Tre-store today, only dummies thou, the Blue felt really nice, but the Silver more uniqe. But my last 2 phones have been black so it's time for a change, and i was told that Telenor had a RED exclusive Xperia ARC?!? does anyone else know about this? (The Tre-guy also said that they had been trying to get the Pink one but he didn't know more than that)

@motvikt, if i get it tomorrow i will let you know!

Samsung Galaxy S?? Samsung who?? Ah,it is worlds away much better than the Sammy. I am having a little rest till evening when I shall do some night shots. I will try HDMI later too. Angry Birds Rio looks brilliant on the huge screen great smooth animations. Really liking this so far. Bad points are back cover although fits on snugly is a little thin. And it would have been easier to have lock key on one side easier to reach rather than top as it is a tall device. No crashes yet. The Arc also gets a touch warm at the top. But nothing to worry about many phones with so much power do get warm.

Booooooo!! So jealously to all owners around here, I have to wait at least till Christmas for my Arc.
Because my 3G[S] will reach 2 years anniversary at the time. I hope it will be worthy wait because of it splendid design

I've just been to the Xperia Play launch party in London. Had a go with both the Play and Arc. The Arc impressed me the most. The display and bravia colour is really good. I like that the phone is so light.

Posted by dibdin
Well this phone just can't come quick enough for me. I have a year old Desire with an AMOLED screen which has been the victim of screen burn. So looking forward to seeing the screen on the Arc for real.

well ordered mine today from e2save

£22.58 (via redemption), T-Mobile 900mins, 500 texts, unlimited data + £46 Quidco cashback
works out at 20.66 month

the cheeky buggers charged me £5 admin to have it delivered to work, anyway they gave a car charger for £5

best deal I reckon, anyone else find any better deals?

PS Currently own a HTC Touch HD with a flaky custom rom.

Posted by Bonovox
e2save are offering the Play with free Bluetooth headset. Had an email today about it. I wonder what the Play camera is like without Exmor and only 5 megs. Going to test audio music now and tv function. Back in a tick

That seems like a good deal..

I wanted 18 month maximum and also no redemption claim deals. So I ended up getting mine from BuyMobilePhones.net

Tariff: T-mobile 600 mins + 500 text + unlimited internet

£30 x 18 months +£70 Auto cashback +£30 quidco

£540 - £70 - £30 = £440 total price over 18 Months.

Compared to around 420 sim-free this seemed like a no brainer!

Was set to be delivered today but the courier turned up the only 30 minutes when no one was at home Tomorrow I'm taking the day off work to make sure I get my hands on the Arc!

I will get mine on monday. From everything I read looks like the phone I need plus Android with all types of existing apps.
And the SE I will actually enjoy like I did X1 long time ago and other ones. Such a pity they f**ked customers with X2...
Anyway monday and in Poland no Puch but HDMI cable yes.

HDMI function is so cool!! You can even use camera viewfinder through tv. HD recording is super smooth too!! Worked flawlessly on my LG tv though HD cable is short luckily one of my spare HDMI sockets is on side of tv

And how is the auto focus??

Posted by Bonovox
Fast!! It is slower in low light but not by much but in good light especially using the touch focus it is very fast with zero shutter lag. Have not seen a camera shoot this quick on any phone yet!! Flash is sooo much brighter than x10!!

@Bonovox

I would like to see some low light shots. Are they as good as they say??

Posted by Bonovox
Flash is good but as for lowlight I will do some ones of my street when it gets dark I cannot tell yet. Just putting stuff on the phone at the moment I got 16 gig card though 8 gig one was in box

@Bonovox

Regarding the HDMI function, some guys thought that controlling the phone using the TV remote is only available when using Bravia TV's, so looking that you have LG TV, is it working ?

and try to attach the phone when the TV is off ( standby )... there's a function if supported by the TV the phone will turn on the TV and select the HDMI input automatically...

Is there a decent weather widget that comes with the phone?

Posted by sambouka
Man, this phone rocks!!!!!!!
Got my misty silver today, I must say the sound is AWESOME.
Tried it first wth my W880 headphones, then with my HPM-78 : heavenly , the equalizer is top notch.

Although all in plastic, it is well build and you can feel the good finish.

Until now, I have tested the music and played some videos.
Tried the DLNA, playing divx files so smooth! Nothing compared to the X10 !
Colours are vibrant, and the sound through the phone's speaker is good.

There is an application called "CLock" which sets up the dock we have seen on the Xperia Play (on his dock).
But I couldn't use it...

Everything runs smoothly, it is a joy to use.
The only thing I would need some time to get used to is the back button on the left (instead of on the right on the X10 family)
Cheers all, get the Arc, SE has made a gem

No weather widget

Posted by dibdin

I collected mine from CPW at lunch today. This phone is epic, its very very quick and the screen is unreal.

One thing I noticed straight away is its much easiest to use single handed unlike the Desire HD I had.
[ This Message was edited by: AndyD777 on 2011-03-31 19:15 ]

Posted by Bonovox
Desire HD?? Nah,that phone don't do HD It's a big brown brick compared to the Arc

Posted by SKIBBE
@Xajel you need a TV that supports CEC and HDCP to be able to use your remote and view the image.

CEC

HDCP

Edit:
@AndyD777 so you choosed ARC?
