I won't get mine till the 14th of April, boo. Well, I'll make do with the play til then...

The arc display is extremely bright, almost painfully so at 100%. If you ever see anything being called dull compared to the arc, it's not a negative as such, it's just the arc pretty much never needs taking about around the 60% mark unless you wear welding goggles all the time...

Arc users please post ur pictures taken by Arc
I really want to know how good the camera is in low light.
And please let me know how long the battery can last.......
I really2 confused between Arc or Neo

SONY ERICSSON XPERIA ARC REVIEW - WHAT MOBILE

http://www.whatmobile.net/201[....]sson-xperia-arc-review-part-1/

Posted by Lunion
Currently on the phone to Carphone, the only thing stopping my upgrade is the fact o2 aren't carrying the phone on their network at the moment.

UPDATE; After getting towards the end of the call with Carphone, they told me they are expecting stock in from o2 next Thursday (7th April).

That is the date o2 have given them, but he said that's not to say that they won't have the handset before then, o2 are pretty cut throat and do things last minute. He mentioned that o2 were adament they weren't going to stock the Blackberry Torch, then one day before release, they carried it!

So, we have a date direct from the network (hope it's true) and the fact they might jump in early. This week is going to REALLY drag now!

I can't wait now! For the money, my X8 was an excellent buy, it's fast, never restarted on me once and does the job.

But, I can't wait for my ARC, everyone in my local pub have iPhone 4's! Do you guys think I will have all the bragging rights when I get it?

I can see one or two of them drooling over it. I'm going to make sure I show mine off as much as possibly can lol.

Just to note, there's some restrictions here, first SIM locked phones won't be unlocked, so only SIM free ones.. thanks good I never ever thought or bought a SIM locked mobile and I don't think I'll do it too...even though I don't plan to change my carrier any time sooner or later

My x8 is great although I do find sometimes apps tend to crash.

Posted by Lunion
Not really had an issue with crashing apps.

The only gripe I have is, the programs that are meant to change my LED Notification Colour, don't actually work.

...a car dock, as well please!

Posted by SKIBBE
@Viper, yeah!
the play already have a dockstation, gussing SE would have had one out for the arc by now if that was the case :/

Posted by domipost
First shops have it now in The Netherlands

The thing that is frustrating to me is that SE have, in my opinion, been great in rectifying some of the mistakes they've made in recent years and, from a software perspective at least, seem to be addressing these, however, they seem to be supporting there hardware with accessory support less and less.

A few years back there were far more accessories and possibly these did not sell too well and SE subsequently don't invest as much into this area of their business (understandable considering their difficulties over the last few years), however, now, with smartphones supporting docking modes and smart accessories it's annoying that there are no first party solutions made to match the product (or product family). With regards to car docks, I note Samsung, LG, Motorola, Google all have docks for there latest handsets - come on Sony Ericsson, keep up!!! This isn't a deal breaker, I've ordered a SE Arc, however, frustrating it most definitely is!!!

Rant over.

Yes but more revenue comes from accessories

Posted by SKIBBE
Yeah, this is the first time i want a real acessory. and now there is none to get. to bad i cant build one my self :S

the arc dock cant be that stylish when the 3.5mm and hdmi is facing eachother, i guess i will have to live with that (but if it's only for tv you dont need the 3.5mm you have the hdmi only. and vice verca (you ought to be able to put your phone in 2 modes) landscape and the oposite landscape? the option to remove a quick connector on each side for 3.5mm and hdmi. so pls someone make this happen!

Not sure about the rest of the world, but in Sweden they've still got a 2 year warranty. That's one of the reasons why I buy .

Has anyone seen silver available anywhere yet? Seems most places have blue only.

Posted by Bonovox
Is it just me or did I notice in the Arc unboxing there seems to be the bare minimun of stuff in the box??

Posted by viper7
Could any Arc dock not just use usb? Surely the audio from phone to dock on a desktop dock can be output this way, or am I missing something? NB. I missed the bit about the hdmi, this kind of through a spanner in the works! doh.

My Arc phone is already waiting for me in SE shop here in Poland!!!

Posted by Bonovox
It's not fair we hardly see any SE shops here in UK. Why Actually I have never seen one

Posted by dibdin
For anyone who is interested about if there is a HDMI cable included, well there isn't. That's what one of the team at Carphone told me.

Posted by Bonovox
Ah but my phone is coming straight from store so mine may have one. Remember some stores take them out so they can sell accessories

They had a shop in London up till about 2 or 3 years ago and then it closed down. Can't remember where in London now.

Thanks, that makes me feel a lot better lol.

Posted by Bonovox
Yeah thanks for that Is it cos Ericsson is Swedish??

Posted by Ricke77
@Fishtank Don't be to shure about that. Telia announced 8gb SD-card and no pouch... I guess it matters who you buy it from or they are just confused... Let's hope they are confused!

Posted by Fishtank
Yeah they pamper us Swedish people

The SE store in London was on Kensington high Street, I remember going there to play with the G900, G700, C901 pre-release and have a look at the X1 (it was in a sealed glass case and n-one was allowed to touch it). It was actually run by the carphonewarehouse group. All the staff there were CPW staff in SE t-shirts. Shame they closed up. I liked it in there.

Posted by Ricke77
Like I said, they are probably confused! Telia that is...

Posted by Fishtank
Telia ftw ...

Posted by doministry
Well our official SE shop is in Warsaw (capital city)
but in fact it's hosted by a company "NetSport".

Anyway they usually have phones early.

Would be very strange if Arc wouldn't have a pouch and cable
since X1, X2 and X10 had it.

Posted by Ricke77
X10 had a pouch?? Not in sweden. A screen protection thou...

Lol. In Poland no protector but leather pouch.....
I will see monday

Posted by Ricke77
Yes I guess we will see in a few days. (Hopefully before monday) With that big 4.2 inch screen some kind of protection is needed so if there isnt a pouch included I guess I will have to buy one...

I could get my phone TODAY but I'm abroad so have to wait till monday.

I won't be taking my Arc out of the house till I have at least a screen protector put on it. I'm too frightened about the screen getting even slightly scratched, and also any kind of damage to the housing.

Does anyone know if there are any decent cases/pouches available for the Arc already??
