Once the bluetooth gps is on, when you take new photos with the k750, do the new photos contain GPS data in the EXIF part ?

Hi, hopefully some of you guys can give me some help.

I bought mobitrack and installed it on my k750i ok but I am unable to import maps from the external memory stick.

I created a map file using oziexplorer and sent that and the jpg file to the root directopry of the memory card.

When I try to load the file I have to "OK" the file permissions to read from the card a few times and then the screen goes white and does nothing else. When I recover the session the new map does not appear in the map list.

I've also tried a few gmi+image files from the example map share website but these do not load either.

Any clues ? Do the map files need to go in a specific directory ?

MAybe the phone needs a firmware update ?
Thanks,
Richie

@the portal

Took me a while to sort this as well but I found that the image file had to be of .png type. You can convert your original .jpg file to .png then import it into OziExplorer and recalibrate it. Worked for me!

My problem is that I cannot work out how MobiTrack copes with large map sizes. Is there an optimal size? The map I've imported seems to scroll sideways (i.e. East to West) but not up and down!!

Got to say this is a great app. Well worth the Euros. Also I bought it on the Mobile2Day site. The site is all German(!) and you need to register to buy but it allows you to download the .jar and .jad files! No need for them to send them via your service provider.

Is there any thing that is based on GSM systems? I see this thingy very handy as tracing my girlfriend, but I don't think she'll go for it if I'll say "Honey, here's a K750 and a GPS receiver, carry it with you at all times so I can check where in hell your sorry ass is at when I'm 100 KM away from you" ... so GSM would be a great solution, and I don't think you would need any GPS receivers for that - or am I wrong?

Very cool, just wish I didn't have to puchase that pesky $150 GPS reciever in order for this to work. What do you guys recommend for cheap bluetooth recievers?

Quite an interesting topic this. I use SatNav quite a lot as I do a lot of driving in my job. I use the TomTom Go, but to tie all this in with this topic; the only SE phone TomTom supports for their GPS software is the P910i

Personally I cannot see how useful GPS would be on a K750i as the screen is too small to show enough detail for you could figure out where you are. Maybe in a city, but if you're out in the sticks its a different story...

You can see how it is usefull by looking at the pics in the link i gave - they show how it works in a even smaller screen - nokia 6230...itīs obvious it isnīt the same as with a bigger screen, but itīs still usefull

My basic question here:
Is there any Java based solution where I can get a Navigation software also with some maps that can be stored in Memory Stick as a whole ? I mean I want a map
of the country so I don't need to load a part of map each time I move to another city etc. or use GPRS to get some piece of it.

Also is there any site where Bluetooth GPS recivers are comapred in terms of compatibility ?

Very nice.

Is there any "sea-maps" available on the net or somewhere else?..
It would be nice to have when we are sailing.
