@brap:

Dialling and SMS with Address Book works perfectly for me, and I've never done WirelessMonkey's Address Book hack.

Hm.

My K750i was installed after the 2.x iSync update, and 10.4.2. I've not had to screw around with anything besides the 'grabber' app, to prevent crashes.

Firmware version R1L002, unbranded, on Virgin Mobile.

When Address Book is connected, the dial and SMS menu items appear -- they just seem to do nothing. Have I missed something?

Actually, I just had a look in my Address Book at the .plist file and it appears I may have edited it! I don't remember doing it, but looking back through this thread I even mentioned it!

my k750 won't work with isync 2.1 , I think it might be because my powerbooks bluetooth address (system profiler/bluetooth) is 00-00-00-00-00-00 , I know this aint normal , any clues how to fix that ?

If you've got an external USB dongle, try unplugging it and restarting, then plugging it in again.

If your Bluetooth is internal go to the Bluetooth preference pane (if you don't have one then your Mac doesn't even realise its supposed to have BT!), in the Settings tab click "Turn Bluetooth off", restart, then turn Bluetooth on again.

Also, try deleting "com.apple.Bluetooth.plist" from ~/Library/Preferences.

If none of that works, I would suggest its faulty bluetooth hardware. Try borrowing a USB BT dongle from someone to see if that works.

BTW, is this your post on Apple Discussions, or has someone exactly the same problem as you?

Thanks. The extra string in the .plist was just what it needed. Curious that it wasn't added by Apple when they fixed iSync...

...although Address book hasn't had anywhere near as many bugs as appear in the rest of Tiger. Maybe they're taking an 'if it ain't broke' approach ;)

Just found this program that claims to halt the crashes associated with using the USB cable and the k750i. I do not have a k750i, but have a z800 and it seems to work. Go to: Click me to download.

Good luck

Thanks to you and JoolsG4 for pointing to this! I was going insane.

Any of you with Panther (10.3) having problems getting iSync to see the k750i after following the lindmark.net directions?

When i go to "Add Device" it simply scans then finds nothing, but on the phone it pops up "Synchronizing...", then it says "Session Completed".

Any thoughts?

THanks.

For whatever reason, my K750i (normal EPlus model, little to no branding) does not work with Adress Book, iSync does what I would expect, snycs data as required.

For Adress book, I have tried all tricks that Jools has described (Thanks for that!) but sending SMS or dialing from the Adress Book just doesnīt work.

I have updated the phone on a PC with the SE update tool, so really, there should not be any problems. Nonetheless, no SMS from the Mac (PB 12"). Interestingly enough: Bluephone elite works perfectly, so it canīt be rocket science, right Apple?

Any ideas? Greets, D

Presumably you've done the Address Book .plist hack to enable K750 support? Make sure its 'K750' not 'K750i' that you've added.

Also, try deleting the Address Book preferences file (com.apple.AddressBook.plist) from ~/Library/Preferences/

Does Address Book connect to the phone ok when you press the little Bluetooth botton? It should light up blue when connected.

HI - THIS WAS EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM I WAS HAVING with my k600i. "synchronizing. session completed".

I found a solution which works 100% for me & luckily it was ridiculously simple.

I sent all my telephone contacts to mac via bluetooth. I then deleted all my contacts from my phone. (the phone lock number for mine was 0000 - a random guess that worked). Now, I don't know if deleting the contacts helped, but it's the order I did things in, so I'm just sharing my process.

I deleted the pairing from my computer.

I deleted the computer from my phone (under Devices - deleted it).

I then connected to my computer from my phone....(before I was trying to 'add device from isync' after pairing it). (To add device from phone: Go to connectivity. My devices. New Device).

My phone then found my mac. and off I went from there. Isync worked 100% and I now have ical & address book working great. (I don't know about other functions..sms from mac etc as it's not what I need). Yippee, I'm thrilled! thx to all other posters for all your tips & tricks.
