Ok thanks! I probably won't be able to have another good look at this for the next month as from next Saturday I'm out of the country (and away from my Mac!) for 3 weeks...

Maybe by the time I get back Apple will have sorted it!! Cheers!

No probs.

Quick question. How do you make it so that the text you write is posted as a weblink, instead of having to write the link?

Ex. www.esato.com to say: "click here" with the click here part as the weblink.

I wouldn't worry, Tiger will be up to 10.4.6 by then

...finally got to Manny's post. I can confirm this works...

Update. I tried again today. After opening iSync and adding the phone as a device I tried to sync with the 'Erase device' option. It failed, saying it had lost contact half way through. I then turned the phone off and on and tried again, but with the Merge option this time, and it worked. As before this was only contacts, not calenders. And I hadn't amended any info, just added one contact, so I couldn't say if there was any other data loss. The one new contact went through just fine.

Updated update.
Scrap all of the above. I've just gone to ring someone who was in my phonebook this morning and discovered that half (at least) of my contacts have gone the way of the fairies...at least my address book on the Mac looks okay.

Have to start again now. Grrrrrrr.

No kernel panic...yipee

To stop your Mac throwing a kernel panic at you when you unplug your phone from the USB cable try this.

Eject your phone from iPhoto
Close iPhoto
Shutdown the Mac
THEN unplug your phone.

I know it's not a fix, but until it's sorted by Apple the things going down anyway, so it might as well be gracefully!

Strangely, I don't get a kernal panic after unplugging my phone straightaway. Sometimes it doesn't crash until minutes, (occasionally many minutes) later.

For instance, yesterday, about 10 minutes after unplugging my K750 I clicked an attachment in Mail and that triggered the kernal panic. Dunno why!

Hi, Just want to thank JoolsG4 for posting the isync/ k750i and showing how it can work. I had to install it twice and also had to use the bluetooth assistant twice to find the phone, first time it found it but said there was some channel problem than after fiddling for a few hours, I re installed and deleted the phone from isync and started again and it worked. Now its working well. Once again, just want to thank you. NOw I am trying to get some notes and also msn but not having much luck so far.

OK guys new to the group and great info. But at these time I am about to drop the towel. Have done every thing. ( I think)
Un install I sync and re insall
Delite all the files ~/library and so onconect the units and nothing
One thing do you guys keep metioning to delite ~/library/com.apple.bluetoth.plist and ~/Library/com.apple.isync.plist
coudn't find these files unitl I sued Spot light and I acctualy found them here

/users/username/library/prefernces

Should I put it just like you guys are metioning

My problem is that the computer keeps giving me the error that has lost conection with device and never syncs any thing

Right know I am using the good all Drag all the files from my isync to the desk top and the then send them as a big file. Lame but works.

Any other suggestion for me

Thanks to all in advance

@ nmex

It appears that you may be one of the unfortunate ones (like myself) for whom these hacks don't work fully or at all. We've yet to discover why they work for some but not others.

Some people have got it working after many hours of tinkering, but unless you're willing to do that, we're going to have to wait for official support from Apple.

JoolsG4

Here is something I found yesterday. I was trying all of these with my G4 powerbook at the office. No luck. Then last night when I got home I figure to give it a last try on my machine at home ( G4 dual 1.25).
The only thing I did was down load the Phone Plug folder drop i t on the main Library folder restart the machine.
After that pear the phone and "DESELECTED GPRS CONECTION" ( Since I will never use these fiture at the house) and GUESS what........ It work perfect.
Got to the offie today fire up my laptop start Bluetooth device manager and deselect GPRS conection for the phone and GUESS what work like a charm.

Hope these works ffor you.

Know I just need to find a way to do a full GPRS conection with these phone since I travel alot and use it alot. ( Always use my P910 for these but would like to do it also with these new phone)
