Hello,

I got a DSS25 yesterday from a P910i box, and I tried to upgrade my K700 firmware with it... I installed the station with the P910i driver I found on SE website.
Everything's doing fine until I get the message

Quote:
Error in communication with the device
Make sure you have removed the battery and reinserted it. Then try to start the device.
If your device shows an error message or does not start at all, click Recovery Mode
If your device behaves normally, click Start over.
If the problem persists, please contact support.

I'm running Windows XP SP1, with a recent Java VM on it... I'm using IE. None of the solutions I've read on forums seems to work with my issue... Anything to deal with COM ports or stuff ? Where can it come from? I'm taken by time, I have to give back the station tomorrow...

Here the error log I get after this

Quote:

An unexpected exception has been detected in native code outside the VM.

NOTE: We are unable to locate the function name symbol for the error
just occurred. Please refer to release documentation for possible
reason and solutions.

The best suggestion that I have is to use Opera or firefox as your web browser. They are available free online.

I've used a DSS-20 from a P800 and I didn't have to install anything but the DSS drivers (in the P800 UK page) & the SEUS application.
Having Sun VM, IE 6, XP SP2, no firewall.

Despite from that, the upgrade run flawlessy (no failure msgs) BUT the phone turned to be, at last, bad upgraded (some pix corrupted).
Today going to get it back from a Service Center...

All summed up, I had no problem with drivers (as far as the DSS-20 is concerned), but take care of your Internet connection AND try avoiding any USB hub/add-cable: I may thing the length of the USB cable should be as small as possible..!

bye,

At what percentage of the flashing did you get this error message? What is the current condition of your phone? Have you tried the Recovery Mode?
