Hi,
I run WinXP Pro SP2, and plugged DSS25 to USB ver 2 socket on PC.
Installed SE SyncStation ver 1.5.5.3 and SE File Manager ver 2.2.9.0b. Enabled COM Port3, and checked Device Manager, all OK. Fitted (Orange)K700i to DSS25.
'My Phones' icon appears on Desktop, and 'Phone Monitor' icon with the tick mark appears in System tray. Now the problems begin.
First, click on 'My Phones' shows as 'not connected'>
Then after a short time Phone icon appears in the explorer window>
Click on icon opens explorer with 'Phone Memory' in main window>
Click on 'Phone Memory' opens 5 folders, such as 'Pictures', 'Sounds' etc.>
Click on 'Pictures' gives the following message : "unable to connect - an unexpected error occured">
I next try a few more times and eventually, the computer freezes.
I have looked for FAQs and changed transfer rate to 115,200, also I asked SE who advised to disable firewall or anti virus. I have done all this but no change seen. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, but all to no avail.
Please advise, and many thanks for doing so.

Hi

I would suggest using Floats mobile agent (FMA - search for it on esato). This is free and easy to use!

might have more luck connecting!

Thank you, will keep that in mind.

But can someone please tell me what I need to do further, along the path of my present procedure, in order to connect successfully. I feel that I am just one step away from success, but that step is presently eluding me.

First off, I'd go about uninstalling all of that stuff provided with your phone. I installed it and it cause me problems and it was sluggish.

The driver that worked best for me was the one provided on the SE site and had no problems doing whatever I wanted to do with it. After I decided to check out the SE stuff that was with my phone, it stopped working with some programs and turned really slow.

Thanks to all who responded.

I bowed to the invevitable, and installed FMA.

Problems solved! Great program.

I must also mention that these forums are a godsend to people like me.

(Have removed Sony Ericsson File Manager).
