The N90 photos look fine to me, but it does not make up for the price difference to K750 (which I think takes equally good pictures).
Also the N90 photos in the link are provided by Nokia them self and are not taken by gsmarena or some avarge joe as most K750 pictures we have seen (it makes a difference). |

Overexposed is a photographic term...the picture is too "white" due to extreme light conditions...nothing to do with camera quality...thats my point

@ Jamin
Nice one, at last someone who can tell us what we want to know.
Please, spend time learning how to use the camera effects to gain high quality pictures, and show them to us.
You can host them on http://imageshack.us and then copy the URL in image tags and post it on this forum for everyone to see.

Equally good ? the N90's pictures look really pixelated, drab and over exposed. I really was expecting much more from the phone. They only seem to look good when downsized, unlike the K750i's, which if taken correctly look great on a pc screen or downsized to 6"x4".

But shouldnt pictures taken by Nokia themselves show the true potential of the camera ? shouldnt they know how to use their own product and be able to show its capabilities ?
Those pictures taken by Nokia and supplied to GSMarena look terrible IMO, so when joe average gets his hands on the phone and takes average pictures without playing around with the settings they should look even worse.
I like the N90 alot, but i cannot see how Nokia can even compete with the K750i in camera quality terms if that is the best it can produce.

those Nokia-supplied pics don't impress me at all.
they're pretty noisy and they look a bit soft. there also seems to be a bluish cast to them.
this from photos that Nokia could have retouched for all we know, and from a phone that'll cost 700 euros.
so much for "Carl Zeiss Optics". |

From the manual (p.67):

With the Sony Ericsson Update Service you can keep your phone updated with the latest software. When a new software version is available, you can download and install it using the provided USB cable and an Internet-connected computer.
-->We don't have to buy a new sync station, we will be able to update the firmware with the provided USB cable!!!

The manual says Memory Stick Duo™.
I have a leaflet with specifications and it says Memory Stick PRO Duo™. What is correct?
From the other gullfoss link. I saw on the pictures that the phone is Made in China. Not good.

Maybe its my screen, but I think you are exaggerating a bit. N90 pictures looks fine (at least they are not horrible as you say). I don't know exactly what to expect from a Carl Zeiss lens, but it does not seem to improve the picture quality that much (if at all) as one would think and hence is not worth the additional 500 USD for the N90 IMO.

That was my point. Pictures taken under optimal conditions by professional photographer. Pictures won't be better than that, but they can be worse when average joe makes his.

Heh, yes i should think so. I wouldnt even compare the N90 pictures to the S700i, they look far worse.
Btw, im viewing the 1600x1200 pictures taken by the N90 in full screen on my pc, my desktop resolution is set to 1024x768 so the pictures are squashed down to the resolution.
On my screen, they look terrible. Sure, they're better than the 6630's pictures but they are nowhere near as good as the K750i's unless you resize them down to about 800x600.

Exactly, if that is the best that the N90 can produce, then IMO the N90's camera is a complete joke.
Like Dimenexian said, so much for Carl Zeiss optics.
Btw, great news about the update service using the provided cable. About time !
