Hi everyone

Thought would have a laugh and tried to update my branded O2 k700i with my dss-25.

MY GOD.....it works! I have now got firmware version R2AN001!

Couldn't believe it!

Does anyone know what the advantages are with this new firmware when compared with the old one? I did have the first version of firmware when I got the phone last June!

Hehe! made my day!! ;-]

This must be pretty new, because until now, O2 handsets have not been able to use the SEUS! I don't think I've ever read about R2AN, but I suspect that it's an O2 customised version of R2AE.

Yeah i think it is, according to the firmware overview on esato it's the latest O" firmware but went thru the process no problem! The overview doesn't really give details about the improvements but I would have thought it would mirror the latest universal version!

I assume you still have the O2 icon in the top left corner of the main menu?

It's good to see that O2 users can finally update their handsets.

Yes! After all this time I finally updated my O2 branded phone last night. We knew it would happen eventually!
