K700i camera far away better than 6600 in daylight, i can prove it and i had compare the photos on PC, 6600 colour not like the original, the white colour turn to green or blue colour, but 6600 night mode was so good, it may blur but it has no noise, K700i's has noise but the picture sharper.
And how about taking picture in Super Dark room, i mean no light there, can 6600 take a picture there ?? K700i can do it because it has light on it, we can use it as torch too |

Although i myself use a 6600.. I too feel that the picture quality is just above average.. They seem to be somewhat darker than my pal's k700i..

K700 takes much better pics in daytime than 6600...i've compared it at length with my mate's 6600 and found 6600's pics lackin in quality and as stated earlier it tends to provide a tint of grren/blue. At night k7 used to be rubbish but camera sw 3.10 has made it acceptable specially with flash on...try it people, just keep your hands still n night mode is not really that bad. Addin the extras in k7 like panaroma(which i totally adore) and extended mode makes it much better for imagin than 6600. Also dont forget it takes long length videos as well... |

| Panaroma is a image setting in k7 allowin it to join 3 pics and take 3d view like pics(check k7 pics/video section for examples). Yup i'm aware of softwares like philips camcorder etc for 6600 but these decrease video quality from wat i could make out |

@clank....i found an extended mode on my k700i. Pics taken in this mode appear to be much sharper than oter modes. But they take a slightly longer time to get saved by the phone. What is this xtended mode??

@mrao in this mode the k7 takes pics in 1280x960 ie like a 1.2mp camera however these are not true mp pics...it uses some kind of interpolation to take these which explains the extra time taken...nonetheless the pics are better than vga pics so thats a bonus for k7's cam too. |

I got another question. The backof the phone says VGA 4.1mm 1:2.8, whats all these numbers supposed to mean?

VGA: really this is used to tell you the resolution of the sensor, 640x480
4.1mm is the focal length, the distance from the plane of the lens to the sensor
1:2.8 is the aperture size, usually called the F number. It's a ratio of the aperture size to the focal length. F2.8 is bright, it lets in alot of light. The S700i is F4, and the Clara will be too. This lets in less than half the amount of light of the lens in the K700i, but it allows better depth of focus.

Nice info @sydney, no wonder the K700 tend to get washed-out images in bright daylight.
the 6600 images may be less noisy compared to K700 but K700 has better details in its images. I also think the color from 6600 is a bit too pale.
