How to unbrand K700i (do I need to unlock also ) |

Hi,
I've got a Vodaphone K700 and I'd like to get rid of the Vodafone customization so that I can utilise MP3s are ringtones and update the firmware to its latest version.
I am quite confused to whether or not I do need to first unlock the phone or if updating the phone with a firmware from SE will be enough. I do not need to unlock the phone to use it in on another network.
I read about the Multiserve application and its associated credits, is that the only application I could use to either upgrade the firmware and/or unlock the phone ? And do I need to buy a credit to upgrade the firmware ?
I bought a T28 data cable so I should be alright from what I read.
Thanks to all your help

I had the Vodafone Live k700i, Tried updating the fimware using the Sony Ericsson Update Service but it wouldn't let me update because of vodafone!
So I used Davinci to flash my phone. Never looked back!

Hi,
I'm trying to solve the same problem but know nothing about firmware or much else that technical really.
I believe you can use the Sony Ericsson DMF Packager to package MP3s and you can upload the packaged MP3 and it works fine.
My problem is that SE seem to have removed the tool from their developers website and I can't find it anywhere. can anyone email it me at elmintrude@yahoo.com or post a link for it?
