I have an Orange branded K700 (version R2AC) with camera version 3.9. Am i right in saying that if i update to R2AE with davinci the camera won't update to the 3.10 version and as such won't work? If so could i get around it by unbrading my phone with an unbranded version of R2AC and then use SEUS to update the phone to R2AE, or won't the SEUS work with my phone after i use davinci on it?
Also will i lose all my games if i update the phone?

If I were you, I'd do what I'm going to do. Get yourself a T28 service cable (I got one for £3 off eBay) and use SE Tool. gbrooks3 can write you a file, which you send to the phone and it will remove all customisation, and then we should be able to use the SEUS from that point on.
I know you don't lose games when updating through the SEUS, but I'm not sure about when using DaVinci.
If you do decide to use DaVinci, I'm sure if you upgrade to R2AE, you'll get camera driver 3.10, but I'm not certain.

From what i've read on here Davinci doesn't update the camera version.
As for this file gsbrooks can supply, how much would it cost to do this, what does it exactly do, and has anyone else here done it sucesfully?

Setool can change your phone so it is compatible SEUS, for 1 credit. Also once you have purchased 1 credit you can upgrade the firmware with setool for free

So when i make it compatible with SEUS does this update the firmware to the current version or do i then have to do it through SEUS? If it does update the firmware, will it also update the camera version? |

Hello,
Well it is difficult to explain, there are a few ways in which we can make the phone compatible for SEUS. The easiest way is by not flashing the phone but writing some script to the GDFS (a set of records in the phone). Once done you can then use SEUS, or setool to upgrade the phone for free.

So are you saying that one Setool credit buys both SEUS compatibility AND the possibility of using Setool to upgrade? With one Setool credit could I unbrand my Orange phone and upgrade the F/W to the latest version? |

Updating with Davinci does update your camera driver.
As for making your phone compatabile with SEUS; SEUS checks the IMEI of your phone against it's database as well as the CDA and will therefore will work out it is a branded phone that has been flashed with generic firmware and will not work with SEUS. I've tried it. |

I have a K700i with R2AE033 which originally came with R2AA003 & the Hong Kong language pack. The phone was unbranded. I used SEUS to upgrade it and it still had the Hong Kong Language pack which I wanted to get rid off to make the phone more user friendly. Finally I used da vinci to flash with the US1 language pack & now I have R2AE033 with the US1 language pack.
If there is a new update on SEUS, will I be able to use it now that I have used da vinci? In other words, will my phone work with SEUS now if a new update is available? |

From where have you heard that? All i know is that i helped someone to decustomize their K700i from orange, i changed all of their CDA and customization data and they were able to use SEUS. Anyway, with setool firmware upgrade are free so it really makes no difference to me - both do the same thing.
