Transfer to pc and then transfer it back. May be it will work. Worth a try.

with R2l I can use recorded sounds as ringtone or alarm signal, but now in R2ae these options are disabled. SE, why is that?

You could do this in the original firmware version as its one of the first things I tried when people were asking me to check out stuff on the K700

Yeah, it still can be done in r2l. I can vouch for that.

You can fix it if you make "reset settings"

I already tried reset settings but did not work. Will it work if I select "reset all". i am hesitant to try that because I have a lot downloaded games and other stuff which I can't back up. Thanks!

My K700 fix this problem only with the reset settings.Try with reset all but first make a backup to your phone list.Good luck.

I can now confirm that a total reset will fix this little problem.

Been spending the last 3 hours now restoreing everything I had in the phone and I'm very far from finished (about 550 pics, pics to about 150 contacts and so on)...

But atleast the .amr now works again.

Guys..setting an *.amr file as a ringtone or alarm signal is definitely possible. I can vouch for it since I purchased a new k700 this week. I checked if this was working 10 seconds before making this post & good news...it works..I even had a colleague give me a missed call so I could verify before posting this.
If i select the >amr file and click More, it gives me an option to USE, under which there are sub-options for ringtone, alarm signal &Add to contact.

I forgot to mention, ichecked the fw version before buying the phone & Im using R2AE & I have'nt had to reset any settings at all.

Interesting,

I just upgraded to R2AE today, and just checked, I cannot either.

It gives you the options but then says,

'Cannot Use This File'

A Shame, because R2AE is sooooo much faster than my old R2C!

I'd still reccomend using R2AE though!
