Today 1/22/2005, was the first time I tried to update my phone. New DSS-25, fully functional. I tranfered some files back and forth between the phone and my computer just to warm up/break in my DSS-25. Everything's good!

My first SEUS experience:

First I had to install Java2 - didn't know I have to have Java in my IE6 browser to access some of the pages of SEUS.

Then I installed the SE Update Service PC Client software thing.

Lastly, I got a message like Chippy99:

"There is currently no service for devices belonging to your operator.
Your device is not permitted to use this service."

My K700i is Unbranded, Sim-free from eXpansys, CDA102286/17 EU_2 (which is on the "Allow List" of phones that can use SEUS). I'm currently using a T-mobile SIM. My original pre-installed firmware was R2A041 and I was hoping to FINALLY move from R2A041 to R2AE033, but SEUS gave me the message above.

How can that be? My phone is still a Virgin and have never used the SE update service before. So I think SEUS is down or out of service for now. I honestly don't think it's my phone. I didn't even get to download any firmware, or R2L. Didn't get to that part of the update. The only thing I notice is that after my brief encounter with SEUS, the DSS-25 turn off my phone. I powered it back on and everything is fine...but I'm still with R2A041 (damn it). I'll try again next week.
