need help with updating k700i firmware |

hello everyone,
i bought a k700i yesterday and i tried updating the phone from the website but it didnt allow me to update and gave me an error message.
this is what i did:
1.im using the DC 11 driver and the cable from my old P800.
2. i connected the cable to the PC/phone and i was able to sync the info form PC to phone last night.
3. today i tried updating my firm to the latest from the website(i have R2L001) but it didnt allow me. where did I go wrong?
4. im getting the icon of the phone on the toolbar.
do i need to be registered with SE website? what am i missing from my attempt?

you can't use the DCU-11, you must use a DSS-20 or DSS-25 sync station for the online upgrade. They are the only ones that work and indeed it asks you to confirm you are using one of those when you go through the procedure

does this mean i have to go and buy one???
is there anyway else 2 upgrade it other than taking it to the service center?
how much does the DCS 22 cost?

you can't get them for free  so yeah, you'll have to buy one.
there are other services providing update via the internet but I haven't really followed them close enough to know what cables you can use. take a look in the software forum for the latest discussions

The cable you have will not let you perform an update of any kind. To use the unofficial solutions you must have a T28 service/unlock cable. You can probably find them on eBay along with the DSS-25 (I paid £18 for my DSS-25). |
