Don't think R7 would help

Unfortunately SE don't develop their Java to run such things. It is a real problem since you cannot run the best Java apps without having access to all protocols and API functions! |

Well, sadly newer se models have all j2me stuff you can wish. That is, the midp 2.0 models. Plus the se developers page now boasts theyr "3d enabled phones". It seems se didnt consider java important before 3g.
What saddens me most is that the speed change in the java vm of firmware R4 means they worked on it. They could've brought it up to date.

It would have been a major upgrade to the Java engine on the phones and I guess they just don't see the need to accomodate these functions, although why they did not implement bluetooth API's is beyond me, no multiplayer gaming via Java, which everyone was used to on Mophun!
Bring Mophun back, thats what I say! |

I agree with you DC, it's incongruent that you have bluetooth access in mophun, and it's not implemented in java, it's one of my pet peeves with the t610. That and the other java api lackings (i am not asking for 3D api, but some basic stuff like socket:// access, bluetooth access, etc etc) is my biggest dissapointment about the t610 and the only reason I want to switch to a k700 (if I had the money) |

Be aware lars, the K700 still does not support bluetooth and infrared in Java, and it does not support Mophun so you won't have access to the real 'hardcore' java apps out there! |
