Agreed on that. At the end of the day, people might slag off 02 but there online tariffs are better than orange, t-mobile and vodafone.

I pay £25 a month and get 100 anytime mins, 500 txts, 400 mins wap and half a mb of gprs, plus i got my k700i for £30 (when i first came out) with no customisations other than the 02 icon on the menu. I moved from vodafone as they completely bastardised my t610 with that stupid kiddie vodafone menu and 'red sim' stickers all over the casing. Also they were pretty expensive and didn't include 0845 numbers under my free mins.

I think I may be one of the affected customers. I've been having real problems with my O2 service since Friday. I wasn't receiving any texts at all since Friday afternoon, and then they all arrived on Sunday night, in batches of about 4, continuing into the morning. Since then the service has been patchy at best. They'd better get it sorted, I only renewed my contract a few weeks ago. Hopefully my problem was only a temporary one.

Oh yeah, and first post!

nope not that, theyve generally been having problems the last couple of weeks with texts, especially around last weekend when quite a few vanished or turned up days late.

What did suprise me on 02 is that i did loads of drunken texting on NYE and all of my texts managed to get through, normally the everyone's network goes down on NYE!

On another note....

I cancelled my o2 line in october 2004!!!! When i got my bill i had been overcharged!!!!

I was well angry!!!

Since then i have rung them 3 times n been told i will get my final bil by this date and will be refuned the difference.... still not heard from them!!! Will be ringing them up in the morning...

O2 customer service is rubbish... the worst thing is its costs too.

Never had any issuses with T-Mobile customer service... they seem to be great.

ENJOY

I don't understand why alot of you are having problems and alot of us aren't.
Bought my K700i online from o2 in August and 'touch wood' haven't had a problem. No text or bill problems.
Actually I seem to have better reception than I've ever had with anyother network.

Very strange.

My k700's started playing up recently too, I now tend to wake up in the morning to find my phone wont turn on unless i restart the whole thing by taking the battery off! Then a batch of text msg's arrive. If O2 say's theres a problem with the handset and aren't selling it anymore what about us who've already bought them? Who've been told that we're out of the 28day window? I've had 3 Handsets so far, but ony kept two...The 3rd replacement they sent me was worse than the one i had, on which the problem was the battery cover, the 3rd handset had a older version of firmware than the 2nd set.. so i swapped the cover and sent them the 'new' one back.

If you want to call O2 Customer Service without calling a premium or national rate number try searching for O2 on this site:

http://www.saynoto0870.com/

It lists a whole load of alternative contact numbers...

im willing to bet money that this is an o2 f/w issue. but knowing o2 they will blame everyone else first (including customers probably) and it will take them 6 months to work it out.

and it seems gprs is in a mood tonight too i was reading this thread at 11pm and my gprs went off altogether. its now 3am and its only just come on.
who says o2 cant see what we access!! [addsig]

there is a thread in the technical section called k500 and virgin problems

it seems the member bought a k5 on o2, got it unlocked and put a virgin sim in. now hes having trouble with sms!
i asked if the phone is o2 branded, but no reply as yet.
if it is surely it proves that its o2s crappy f/w thats at fault? [addsig]

I'd say its an O2 fw issue. A friend of mine has an O2 branded K700i and has had the sms problem. My K700i, which i use on O2, hasn't any problem with sms! @fatreg: not the most constructive post you've put there.
