Hi,

Got myself a S700i in Australia last week.

How do i check to see what firmware it is running ?

Also i read in the manual that this phone is compatible with the Sony update server (by that I assume you can install the firmware yourself). However there doesn't seem to be much information about it on the SE site.

Any ideas?

hello,

to check your firmware key in this combination:

>*<<*<*

this will take you into the service menu.

Because the platform sends bogus messages while charging, that is why!!!..But why this change of heart?..We sense a charger connected, oops, we will not shut down after all!!!..*********************** UI BASIC, HOLD YOUR HORSES

Hello, is your phone branded? that looks like branded firmware to me. I see you are in pompey? me too, i would happily do it for you with out the use of any servers etc. Or i can give you info about how to do it yourself, equipment etc.

@ gbrooks3

Yes i'm in Pompey but not Pompey, sussex (unless they've moved it from hampshire without telling me!!!)

The phone was supplied by vodaphone but i had it unlocked by 'Mark' in his shop in albert rd, S'sea.I now use it on Orange.
The latest fimware would be cool but i was wondering if you can 'flash' it to get rid of all the Vodaphone software stuff?

Cheerz!!! (your first name is'nt Garth is it ?)
