No doubt, the original poster has the right to express his sentiments openly. The simple fact simply is that for a pxxx user like me, an SPV would be a few steps down the ladder.

Once again the Esato mob comes sweeping along to harangue another member trying to express his opinion. I suppose we should be thankful though, because if members were allowed to express opinions other than unconditional loyalty to SE, we might actually realise that SE are not perfect and that there are people who like brands other than SE; we can't have that now can we?

@scots: No, we definitely cannot. Truth be told, I have used a few phones from other manufacturers that beat the SE in that particular category.

I guess its a sign of the times and shows my agreement with the original poster (i.e. not so content with SE at the moment) when I haven't used an SE phone for more than 2 months. Indeed apart from the Motorola V3 the other two phones I have been using in that time are... tah dah... HTC phones
First I used the i-mate SP3i and now the JAM and I can thoroughly recommend either one (my pref is the JAM) to anyone interested in a microsoft based phone and I have found them both to be highly stable

@masseur
Are you allowed to say that?

I think everyone is allowed to give their opinion here even if there does seem to be some mob mentality when someone suggests something non-SE. but I guess that will happen on a site that is primarily SE based
and I think opinion is worth even more when its based on experience of having used all the devices in question. however, having said that, my experience of these devices will be different to someone elses experience because of how we all use our devices differently
I really hope in 2005 SE brings some new devices out that will bring me back into the fold, but I won't buy SE "just because"

Half as good as the best one?
Please tell me wich one is the best one (P* excluded)? K700? This phone when got released was full of bugs, OK great features but it's limited (by advanced software, memory). S700? Nice features and nice display, but I don't like the shape (just my taste) and it's expansive. It has a great display to bad it's limited for advanced software, so you cannot install for example an HTML browser (eg: Opera, etc). You can install just some JAVA games (yeah 3D engine.. even my old Nokia 7650 has 3d engine, and the games are locking greater than the one on K700/S700) and the games and apps..
The SPV c500 it's:
- ceaper than K700i, S700
- good battery life
- compact
- support for mini-SD (1gb avaiable for now)
- very flexible, you can add feature by installing new software
- stable, fast (the sw is faster than K700)
Why to buy a phone if you can buy a smartphone that is cheaper and more flexible? Just for the nice "SE logo"? Nah...
So the SPV c500/imate SP3i beat all the SE phones (unless you need a fm radio or 1.3 MP camera). The only phones that actually beats those 2 HTC phones are the P series but just because they have big touchscreen display (wich makes the P series to be big and very sensible)

Just to add to what I said earlier, I have a P910i and came from an SPV E200. I really began to hate the phone as it had loads of issues which really did my head in.
I did all the firmware updates etc and the phone even got swapped out twice, but still did not work as it should. There is a forum (like Esato) all about SPVs, and it showed a list of issues with E200 & C500. When I had chance to upgrade, I could have had a free C500 or a free P910.
So scared of the C500 heading the same way as the E200, I chose the P910i wonder brick instead. If it has all been straightened out now, then it'll be a great compact phone but I can't help being suspicious after the last one.
Mind you the P910i is not without hiccups, but overall seems much better than my E200. It makes clearer sounding calls for a start which is one vital function. Oh the touch screen and flippy bits are cool too, but the SPV has size really on its side. |

the spv c500 is a big advance on its predecessor(e200) .personally if one compares se phones and htc phones ,one comes to the conclusion that htc phones are richer in features and to a lesser extent quality but still manage to cost a great deal less ie...the oversexedup s700(opinion subject to changes after 5jan) |
