NEXTLINK'S BLUESPOON AX BLUETOOTH HEADSET IS IN MY EAR!! NO MORE BLEEDING EARS FOR THE "BLEEDING EDGE"!!

Just received my New Proto-Type BlueSpoon AX from Nextlink. What a great improvement in design for this new "tiny" offering from the top bluetooth headset company currently going!! NextLink has really listened to its Customer's complaints, suggestions and requests regarding the redesign of its 3rd Generation Headset. Some of the improvements and new features for this Headset are as follows....

1. Simple Easy to Use 3 Button Interface.
2. Completely Re-Designed Ear Piece Made of Soft Silicone.
3. Pairing with up to 8 Different BlueTooth Devices.
4. Exchangeable (re-chargeable) Li-ION battery.
5. Mini-USB charging interface.
6. Right or Left Ear usage.
7. Exchangeable ear pieces for small or large ears.

Those are just some of the new features and design changes. The headset is really great from the standpoint of button response in feel and positive action.

My unit is a Proto-Type and not the final production version. The packaging, although, apparently production, does not yet have manuals or written instructions. The following were included with my Proto-Type..

a. BlueSpoon AX
b. USB Charging cable.
c. Necklace with Mini-USB connector.
d. CD Manual, Gallery, Promotional Literature.
e. Cloth Pouch.
f. 2 Soft Ear Pieces.

Pairing the AX is simple, and with the new 3rd Button....very much trouble free compared to the old BlueSpoons.

First, press the center "Talk" button with the unit turned off and hold it in for approximately 10 seconds.....the unit will flash RED and BLUE

Enter the Pairing Code which has been changed to "0000" and the unit is Paired! I have tried it with all the phones shown in the photos with no problems. The "AX" talks easily with them.

I will post a short review on the unit after I play with it for a week or so. The Production Units will be available shortly and I hope to give my impressions before they become available. I can tell you right now that it is much LOUDER than the Digital and Analog models. Can't wait to use it with the RaZr's SUPERTOOTH and of course Sony/Ericsson's excellent K700i.

For now, here are plenty of photos for you to get an idea of the uniqueness and quality of this super low-cost "Bleeding Edge" headset.....

PHOTOS OF THE BLUESPOON "AX" BLUETOOTH HEADSET!!

Amy models the AX on its Mini-USB Necklace...

See the Silicone ear piece folded inside the outter ear fold....

Amy wearing the AX....

The AX shows a steady RED LED while charging. The light will turn off once the AX is fully charged and the little BLUE LED will flash to show it is on and operating.

The "AX" at an ANGLE....

The 2 Different Sized Silicone Ear Pieces...

Installing the ear piece is a simple "Twist-On" procedure. The fit is snug and tight..

The Mini-USB port...

The port is grooved on the botton to insure proper insertion and a "No-Damage" charging operation... The cable is always "Hot" so that you don't have to have your computer turned on in order to charge the AX...

The "Exchangeable & Rechargeable Li-ION Battery". The AX allows you to finally service your own battery. Its a simple "pull & push" with the AX...

Decissions, Decissions......which phone gets to test the 'AX" first???

RaZr's "SuperTooth" is gonna get a good workout...

Sony Ericsson's excellent Bluetooth Phones the S700i and K700i

My poor Bluetooth Crippled PDA2k....

My Digital First Generation BlueSpoons welcome their new Analog Brother.... Preparation for the "5G" will be upcoming!!

So, check back to this thread for my upcoming review. For the most part this headset is simply a new exercise in design and User Friendliness. Of course,,,,comfort and ease of use.....definitely increase performance and you can't go wrong with this headsets features and its price. Their is simply nothing else being offered that can compete for the price/performance combination...

Thanks again Lars and NextLink for this opportunity and Great New Headset!! I can't wait for everyone who sees it to begin the questions of "Is that a Bionic Ear??" "Have you been Assemillated??"....hehe.... "Where CAN I GET ONE???"

There is still the "Sticking too far out from the ear"-factor that doesn't quite appeal to me. I wish it was a bit more intergrated in the ear.

This is by far the most complete bt headset i've seen.
Nice little features that makes one live simple and fun.
This little nifty device makes me think twice about purchasing a bt headset.

Now...how many weeks do i have 2 stop taking drugs and save some money for this device?

The Moto V3 uses a Mini USB carger port, and I have the moto V3 USB charger for the car, I dare say (without having checked the voltages) that it'll do the job of charging the headset in the car.

That's the same one Bluespoon AX, I got an email from Pilcon saying the first 300 units are transparents and units after that are black. I didn't want to wait for the black one so I opted for the clear one like Bengalboy post.
If it weren't for bad lucks, I would have no lucks at all.

I checked Pilcon and Nextlink websites but found no notice where you could order the AX. From where did you buy yours? Price?

It should have been made to look more discreet.

Also the fact that its see through and has flashing lights, imo it looks a bit tacky.

These headsets are Prototypes and are not meant to be sold as production units. The production headsets will be black, have a better bluetooth chip and larger battery. Additionally some of these prototypes have a case defect that will cause echoing of the callers voice back to them when they speak. Be aware of this before you purchase one..... The production units with the improved bluetooth chip and larger capacity battery will be out in about 2 weeks...

Also, for the "Ultimate Headset"...the new "5G" BlueSpoon with Jawbone Mic technology..here is the first photo of the production unit...
